Kinder des Sturms is a movie about the struggle of German people after WWII. The story of a lost child can be easily translated to the society of a whole struggling to redefine themselves, and it is of course a touching human experience as well. German society had been labeled with collective sinfulness for the crimes of the Nazi regime. This movie and common sense suggests that one cannot judge every member of a community by the by the acts of its majority. The movie gives us some parables of its own to address this topic as the story goes on. However, the main storyline was solid and entertaining for most parts, I felt the ending was a bit rushed.
The movie was suppletory for me as it documented a topic, which is awfully rarely discussed. However, I highly embrace the subject and the standpoint of it, I felt that the pacing and rythm of the movie could have been better, and some scenes took more time to understand than I felt would be neccessary.
