With the fame and popularity that the series has, if Berserk doesn’t have at least a bittersweet and meaningful ending, it will be a generational fumble that disappoints and disheartens millions of fans.
Miura never wanted a hopeless or meaningless ending
Many fans assume Miura intended for the series to end in tragedy due to the way that the story progressed and the constant grim, dark tropes that are intertwined with the narrative progression.

Prime Video's Secret Level has gotten off to a great start, and Keanu Reeves had a major role in its Armored Core episode, which perfectly flipped the actor's most iconic video game character. Having delivered a phenomenal performance in a popular video game four years ago, Reeves once again entered the world of gaming, this time through Prime Video's adaptation of Armored Core. The gritty, action-packed episode showed he could excel in a unique environment, and while the two IPs may be different, another strong gaming-based role sets up Reeves' upcoming appearance as Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

Anime has a unique way of capturing emotions and weaving them into unforgettable stories. Among many acclaimed series, Darling in the Franxx stands as one of anime history’s most controversial stories, often overshadowed by Zero Two’s fanservice and popularity.

While the anime has its share of controversies, it’s undeniably regarded as one of the most popular mecha series, largely driven by its romance and fanservice. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a groundbreaking success that captured the imagination of anime fans and gamers alike. The series managed to transform the gritty dystopia of Night City into an emotional rollercoaster, earning praise for its heartbreaking story and unforgettable characters. But as whispers of a potential new anime circulate, one question looms and that is, how can a follow-up possibly live up to its predecessor?
The answer is Studio Trigger, the creative powerhouse behind the series' iconic style and soul. Without their visionary team at the helm of this upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners sequel, any new attempts risk feeling hollow and too different. While it does not need to be a direct sequel, Cyberpunk's next anime must keep Studio Trigger's unique style.

As the adaptations of video games are slowly getting mainstream, people are starting to take notice. Anime adaptations of Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners have managed to create a huge fandom for their respective franchises with an insane animation debut on Netflix.
Series like Arcane have created a unique storyline that is set within their respective universe, and the success of these adaptations has created a trend for other video games to get adaptations. These anime have taught the industry that storytelling in a different format could cultivate the source material further.

Few shows are like “Arcane.” But there are some that come close and worth checking out.
The second and final season of Netflix’s acclaimed animated series has wrapped, and fans are clamoring for something new but familiar. Netflix actually boasts a number of well-regarded animated series (some also based on video games) that are worth the watch. For fans of some of the sci-fi and time travel elements from the last “Arcane” episodes, a pair of top-tier options exist.

After Arcane's first season blew viewers away with its tremendous quality, season 2 managed to replicate its success and cement its legacy, making me even more excited about another upcoming Netflix show. It may have taken three years for the League of Legends adaptation to return to screens, but Arcane season 2's ending didn't disappoint, as its emotional, high-stakes finale gave it a perfect send-off. The show has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and every episode in season 2 received a rating of over 9 on IMDb, making it one of the streaming platform's best-ever projects.
As a result, Arcane has set up further League of Legends spinoffs with co-creator Christian Linke confirming more adaptations are on the way, and I can't wait to see what's next. However, it's not just stories set in Runeterra that Arcane has me excited about, as another video game adaptation is set for a second Netflix series,...

Cyberpunk 2077 is said to be getting several adaptations, including a live-action TV series. So where do things stand now? Its developers have an update.
CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is surely one of the more cinematic videogames of modern times. Part Blade Runner, part Neuromancer, it features motion-captured performances from the likes of Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba and has already spawned one incredible anime adaptation in the form of 2022’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
While the Polish game studio behind it has now decamped part of its team to America to begin work on a sequel, Cyberpunk 2077 is a world that is ripe for further adaptation and interpretation. That’s why it was exciting to hear a year ago that Cdpr had partnered with Anonymous Content to begin developing twin adaptations of the game – one animated, one live-action.

The anime community has recently seen a sudden rise in animated series that are based on video game adaptations. Warning: Contains Spoilers for Vinland Saga, Naruto: Shippuden, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Hunter x Hunter, Attack on Titan, Mushoku Tensei, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Dragon Ball Z
While a character in anime might be forced to sacrifice themself, usually to save someone or a group of people, it doesn't make it any easier. Sacrifices in anime are almost always heart-breaking, as they involve a noble character laying down their life for the greater good. Characters like Neji from Naruto and Vegeta from Dragon Ball also prove that, just because they started the series on the wrong foot with the protagonist, doesn't mean they can't come around and redeem themselves in the end.
Other characters, like Thors from Vinland Saga or Erwin Smith from Attack on Titan, were good people their entire lives and chose to sacrifice themselves so that the next generation might live on. No matter what a character's reason for making the ultimate sacrifice,...

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is all the rage with its stunning visuals and animation. The series is based on the Polish video game franchise Cyberpunk 2077. Produced by Trigger, it is one of the top 10 animated series in the Cyberpunk genre.
Apart from the animation and visuals, it is highly praised for its storyline. Like most cyberpunk series, it highlights the adversities of the futuristic society. From corruption to violence, it is reminiscent of old-school animated series. But there’s a catch.

There is little to surprise, as Darling in the Franxx has truly swept across the anime medium with a huge fan following when it was first released. And this surge in popularity only gained more momentum with each passing episode of the show. The series portrays an innovative take on the mecha genre, filled with sprinkles of romance elements, which made it a truly daring concept coming from the creative mind of Atsushi Nishigori.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty reached a new level of immersive gaming for me. As it was my first foray into the title since its disastrous launch in December of 2020, I was one of the rare people who got to experience the game for the first time in a much upgraded and enhanced state. From the first ride with Dex Deshawn to the Cyberpsycho-infested streets of Dogtown, Cdpr has done a stand-up job at creating what feels like a living, breathing world.
In my mind, there's one distinct sign that an open-world RPG is a good game, and that's how much I want to do the side missions. For this title, I spent so much time investigating random side missions, and after spending so much time building and customizing my V, I felt too invested in the world to leave random missions behind. Darling in the Franxx may be one of the most controversial stories in anime history but it’s still popular due to Zero Two. In fact, her popularity exceeds that of the anime at times. The story is set in the future, where humans have thrown away their emotions and rudimentary desires for the chance to live immortal lives without the troubles that the civilizations of the past brought them. As interesting as it sounds, the main plot quickly becomes irrelevant, only to be replaced by fan service and bad politics.

It’s an original anime by a collaborative effort between Studio Trigger, A-1 Pictures, and CloverWorks. However, fans point to Trigger since Darling in the Franxx is typically linked with that studio, given its prevalence in the Action, Sci-Fi, and Mecha themes, which have a powerful presence that easily outshines its partners.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is perhaps the closest thing to playing the games that there will ever be from a Tomb Raider adaptation, using all the advantages of the animation medium to its maximum. Shows like Castlevania, Arcane, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners have made a strong case for animation being the best medium for video game adaptations, and The Legend of Lara Croft continues that trend.

Netflix’s animated Tomb Raider series captures the essence of the popular gaming franchise and delivers an action-packed adventure that’s ripe with mysticism and monsters.
Netflix has made a big splash as a streaming service that caused major waves in the television and film industry. One area in which Netflix particularly excels is that they’ve become the number one home for animated video game adaptations. No\Name is a manga recently released in Manga Plus, the digital reading app of the world-famous Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. Created by Rafal Jaki, the mind behind the popular series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and illustrated by Machine Gamu, the manga is the first work by a Western author duo to be serialized under the Shonen Jump imprint, after it received the Golden Award in Manga Plus' new Creators initiative.
The manga follows the special agents named Ralf and Ursula. They are members of the respected Nordic Naming Bureau, an organization responsible for handling any cases relating to peoples names. In this world, a name is assigned to all newborns by the government, as each of them is associated with a special ability called Name Power. When an ordinary disappearance case turns into an all-out investigation, the duo is forced to embark on a journey that could risk their lives and their country.

(Welcome to Ani-time Ani-where, a regular column dedicated to helping the uninitiated understand and appreciate the world of anime.)
Once upon a time, the mere thought of anime versions of American pop culture franchises was enough to get everyone to roll their eyes and expect little more than hot garbage — "The Animatrix" notwithstanding. But recent years have broken that curse, with plenty of collaborations resulting in some of the best shows of the decade, including "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners," "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off" and the outlandish "Suicide Squad Isekai," showing that you can, in fact, adapt Western properties into anime.
The latest anime to join this list is "Terminator Zero." The "Terminator" franchise started as high as it possibly could with two back-to-back masterpieces, but it has since become an underwhelming and convoluted mess. As /Film's own Bj Colangelo wrote in her review of "Terminator Zero," this new installment takes "the new...

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a perfect series. Being a perfect blend of a human story in a time when the world could not be further from humanity, the series ended up touching audiences in ways that little shows have managed to do. While the game is iconic in its own right, this ten-episode series ended up leaving audiences broken in more ways than one.

While some might assume that the series would get hate for the emotional impact it had on its audiences, the reality could not be further from it. The 2022 series has found a special place in the hearts of the fans, and they have become quite protective of it.
With this in mind, one can imagine what will happen if the perfection of this single-season story is disturbed.
