The production crew consisted of only Mills, cinematographer Jared Kovacs, John Marrs, Todd South, and the makeup artist. The three lead actresses often had to chip in to help behind the scenes.
The original script was written in 2014 and titled simply Frontier.
The production budget was only 6,000 dollars.
This was originally conceived as "What if Robert Bresson or Ingmar Bergman made a Western?"
Mills and cinematographer Jared Kovacs originally intended to shoot on 16mm film. The cost and logistics of this choice became impossible for the production.
