Nothing really happens. The acting is average but the phone calls are just not believable - they ruin it tbf.
There is some atmosphere, but in a strange way. The atmosphere is the only reason I watched to the end though.
So if you want things to happen then don't watch this, but if you want a bit of English atmosphere then this might satisfy you.
The main actor is OK to be fair, just the direction and phone calls are awful.

Very slow and very boring film. This may have been what lockdown felt like to some people but it wasn't for me. In this day and age we have Netflix we have music we have Internet. This just seemed too quiet and only really showed him pottering about and on the phone. I kept thinking that the film had stuck because there were so many quiet and still frames. Then I realised it was just because there was nothing happening!

This film is a boring waste of time. Do yourself a favour and go and watch some paint dry instead.

This elte, can't do anything, can't cook can't clean. Has no idea how to use time. Everything to him, seems to be a task. This film is 1 star. Hopeless idiot in a hopless situation.

From the start of the film, the character has had to deal with isolation and loneliness in his [parent's] fortress of solitude. Many people, I'm sure, will be able to relate to this, as of late, and empathise with the character's thoughts and feelings of going stir-crazy. The fact this movie was made during the UK lockdowns is even more impressive than the process of making a movie usually is and big kudos should be given to the writer, actors (/ director), producer, and everybody else involved. The film was shot in a stunning location, the British countryside, which is perfect for the feeling of isolation, as I'm sure many Brits will let you know. Just when you feel you've had enough of lockdown, this film comes and brings something new to a tiresome situation. The lads on screen have very good chemistry on-screen and, as well as mainly having a serious tone, there are humourous bits to break away from the bleakness (insert soup to Beethoven's 5th here). All in all, a class film that I recommend highly to anybody who enjoys a good thriller.

This is definitely a hidden gem of a film. Set and filmed during the pandemic this gave a really accurate feeling of isolation and how tough living alone in lockdown truly is. I must confess, I could see myself like him, had my lockdown experience been anything like his. Fortunately I don't live in the middle of nowhere and I do have the means to contact people. Cos without them, I'd hate to imagine what my life could've ended up like if this movie was anything to go by.
At first I was sceptical about the themes of the film, seeing as the experience of the pandemic has been all too real for many people, but I must admit the cast and crew did a fantastic job in the handling of the subject in a way that is hard hitting without being overly distressing for the viewer. Outside of the story itself, the film is well made, perhaps a few shaky shots and moments out of focus, which I believe were unintentional unfortunately, but it does not take anything away from the film or experience itself. Props to the editing department for an excellent job on all fronts; pacing and structure were solid - you could feel the slow decline in the Student's mentality, but also really felt the hard hitting moments - the colouring also helped set the tone of this film from the get go. All in all, I feel as though the cast and crew have delivered an excellent film; from the film itself to the fact it was all made during lockdown within COVID guidelines could not have been easy, so well done!

I have to say I was impressed by the acting, especially that of Samuel Lawrence who played the thief. There was an honest and vulnerable intensity to his performance. He plays dark characters very well. I look forward to seeing him in more things in the future.

Phenomenal acting that makes you forget the entire film takes place in one house. This film felt very close to home and really made me feel for people I know isolating alone. A great twist at the end which really leaves you guessing how much is real and how much is in your head...

Not as bleak as I could have been, interesting take on a situation we're all too familiar with. Beautifully shot.
Absolutely loved this movie- such incredible cinematography throughout! I adored the music- it evoked all the emotions of the past year and glued me to my seat!

A cleaver take on our current social climate, the film contains clever layers, relatable humour and hidden winks at the audience.
Strongly recommend watching this film.

Stellar little movie from Jason Farries that uses its time wisely with the constraints of budget filmmaking. Cinematography is very professional, editing is on point with Farries carrying the film in front and behind the camera. Very real and very relatable. All involved should be very proud. 10/10.

What a fantastic experience. I must admit, going in I wasn't sure where this journey would take me. Would there be twists and turns? Or would this character stew in his isolation for the entire duration. It wasn't long before I realised that this character was actually a vision of myself, stuck in a rut due to this pandemic caused isolation. As the film began to push away from reality, to my surprise, I found myself connecting with the character even more. The film is structured to work as a slow burn, gradually unveiling the deterioration of the lead's mental state. At first I was unsure, but by the time the credits rolled I was fully convinced. I was the Student. And I too realised that "they were never coming home". What a difficult realisation to come to terms with. The fact this hit so hard is in large part to the edit and careful structure, so they must be commended for that. The visuals were where they needed to be to keep the connection with the character, especially during the gym sequence. That must have been a struggle to do, very impressed with the actor. There were some shakes and blurry moments but they did end up actually helping to add to the characters declining mental health. And the underwater scene was gorgeous, with rays of light pushing past the character as he struggled. Such a symbolic moment, really adding to the importance that water plays throughout. I feel making it to the end was an accomplishment, for all the right reasons. The cast and crew managed to take me on quite the journey and I am thankful that they did. It was cathartic in a way, allowing me to reflect on my own challenges of this isolation. What a marvelous way to express the current times.

Really enjoy this film. His symptoms were exactly how I was when I had covid. I was so very poorly and he portrayed the role well. Not sure what the " tablets" were that they were supposed to be taking as I just had to wait it out !!!!
