Exclusive: India’s Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films are collaborating on an action thriller featuring Shahid Kapoor in the lead.

The as-yet-untitled film will be directed by Rosshan Andrrews, known for Malayalam blockbusters such as Salute and Kayamkulam Kochunni, making his first foray into Hindi-language film. The project also marks the first time that Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films have worked together.

Scheduled to start shooting in the second half of 2023, the film revolves around a brilliant yet rebellious police officer who uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal while investigating a high-profile case.

The series titled ‘Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley’, is set in the snow-capped mountains of Himachal Pradesh and will follow the journey of Charlie Chopra and her pursuit to uncover a deep mystery.

Farzi is a black-comedy-crime-thriller web series directed by Raj & Dk (The Family Man fame); reportedly conceived as a film in 2014, Farzi was later expanded into a television series by 2019. The expectations from the web series were already high for multiple reasons. The most important being it directed by the ‘The Family Man’ (Tfm) duo, which has already seen two successful seasons. It appears that the success of the second season of Tfm, which had Samantha Ruth Prabhu playing an antagonist gained respect and confidence amongst the other stakeholders so much so that Farzi has multiple heavy weight artists for a web series including Vijay Sethupathi, Shahid Kapoor, Amol Palekar and Raashi Khanna.

After releasing three intriguing posters, the makers of Rangoon unveiled the first trailer to their much awaited film featuring Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles. And the period drama on Love War and Deceit, with its stellar cast, is all set to deliver a spectacular battle of love, with the sizzling chemistry the actors have displayed in its trailer. The trailer has caught the eyes of the audiences and has built immense curiosity apart from garnering an overwhelming response from all spheres. And the combination of Vishal Bhardwaj, Saif and Shahid promises another good content movie to his audience. Director Vishal Bhardwaj has a penchant for bringing out career best performances in his actors. With Saif Ali Khan, he has delivered a master piece like Omkara, and on the other hand, with Shahid Kapoor, he had given classics like Haider and Kaminey to his audiences.

Promising to be yet another edge of the seat thriller from Sujoy Ghosh, Te3n has been in the news for bringing together three powerhouse performers namely Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. However, there is a surprise element as the renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra is seen in a special appearance in Te3n. Yes, it has been revealed that Mukesh Chhabra has done a cameo in this suspense drama and plays the role of a land agent. The casting director is a well-known face in the industry and has launched some of the popular actors in Bollywood. However, this is not the first time where the actor has been seen in a miniscule role as he has previously done such roles in films like Rang De Basanti, Kaminey, Gangs of Wasseypur among others. Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, Te3n is slated to release on June 10.

Talented actor Chandan Roy Sanyal's lean mean act in Kaminey is still fresh in the minds of the audience. And when we heard that Chandan has been chosen to play the bad man in Aishwarya's comeback movie, Jazbaa, we were naturally thrilled.

The shooting of Jazbaa has commenced recently in Mumbai, and to know the view of the man himself and the experience of working with Sanjay Gupta, we got in touch with Chandan, who told us, "Sanjay Gupta is a big canvas director and there is always an international look and feel about his films. The same holds true for Jazbaa."

When we queried him about his exact role, he said, "I always work hard for all the characters that I essay. Okay, let me tell you in brief, my role in Jazbaa is on similar lines as Kevin Spacey in Seven (1995)," concludes Chandan.

Earlier we had announced that Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj are all set to come together for a film titled Rangoon. However, now we hear that the film is a part of a three film deal that Vishal Bhardwaj has signed with Sajid Nadiadwala. Sajid Nadiadwala, who doesn't sign such deals, decided to go ahead with this because he mentioned that he fell in love with Vishal Bhardwaj's scripts. While the first film under the deal is all set to go on floor soon, the details of the rest of the films are yet to be finalized. On the other hand, Rangoon stars Saif Ali Khan, Kangna Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor. Vishal Bhardwaj has previously worked with Saif Ali Khan (Omkara) and Shahid Kapoor (Kaminey, Haider) but he will be working with Kangna Ranaut for the first time.

Here’s some exciting casting news! Vishal Bhardwaj is bringing together Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor in one of his next films!

Along with our excitement, Saif is looking forward to working on the film as well. “I love Vishal’s films, the way he characterizes his actors. I am really looking forward to it,” the actor said at a press event.

Fitoor is being produced by Utv and is written by Abhishek Kapoor himself and Supratik Sen who has earlier written screenplays of Kai Po Che and Kaminey.

Based on Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations and stars Rekha as Miss Havisham rechristened Begum, Aditya Roy Kapoor as Pip rechristened as Noor and Katrina Kaif as Estella rechristened Firdaus. The film also stars Akshay Oberoi and Ajay Devgn in a special role. Apart from the above confirmed cast members Lara Dutta is also rumoured to be featuring in the film.

The first schedule of the film has been completed in Kashmir and the film is slated for a December 25th 2015 release.
