With Breaking Dawn . Part 2 bringing a close to the cross-demographic behemoth franchise that has long dominated the box office, the cast of Twilight is now seeking to shape their careers in the shadows of the characters that made them famous. For raven-haired ingénue Ashley Greene, this means soldiering down a path of horror she began in 2008 with a small role in the slasher comedy Otis. Since then, she's played the lead in the serial killer thriller Summer's Blood and the college-set ghost tale The Apparition, and so her next possible project seems a natural fit. The Wrap reports Greene is being considered for a role in The Weinstein Company's soon-to-shoot horror feature that was previously titled Kristy, but now boasts the more enticing and twisted title Satantic. Recently, rising starlet Haley Bennett had signed on to the film, and at the time producers described the flick as a psychological ...

I have been obsessed with Ashley Greene ever since she threatened to sue me for posting naked pictures of her. So it was only a matter of time until I made her our Hot Babe of the Week. Plus we really need a break from Kelly Brook. Greene is arguably the hottest chick from the Twilight Saga, and is starring in the upcoming horror film The Apparition. You can also catch her in the slasher flick Summer's Moon aka Summer's Blood currently available on DVD.

Before star Ashley Greene blew up by being cast in Twilight, this movie was called Summer's Blood, a title which makes a whole hell of a lot more sense. But with the success of that teeny vamp movie, the movie was re-branded and the cover art tweaked to make Greene look more like a vampire, despite that having nothing to do with the story.

Sony Pictures has released a small, very under the radar horror flick once known as Summer's Blood and now Summer's Moon. Released in November the flick stars Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Peter Mooney (Scalpers), Stephen McHattie (Pontypool), and Barbara Niven (Dead at 17). Involving serial killers and incest, Summer's Moon is sure to push some buttons (hopefully not the off button). Some details did come out in November, but have a look at the full synopsis for Summer's Moon before the film fades in to complete obscurity.
A plotline for Summer's Moon:
"Hardened teenager Summer (Ashley Greene) is on the road looking to meet her estranged father. Her only clue to his whereabouts is a letter from a rural community called Massey.
Once she arrives in town Summer is rescued from a run-in with the law by a charming local handyman named Tom Hoxey (Peter Mooney). The couple...

I think I see Ashley Greene's nipple! Click here for a large image of the Twilight star in Interview magazine and tell me if you also see a little nipple! Greene is sure making a name for herself (well in my book) with her naked SoBe ad and her topless Men's magazine pictures. She is also rumored to be starring in a new horror film called, Black Friday 3D directed by some guy named Ethan Terra. Greene plays Alice Cullen in the Twiligth Saga, starred in the serial killer flick Summer's Blood and is in the new horror/thriller The Apparition... aka she is a Horror Yearbook gold mine.

Sports Illustrated teamed up with SoBe to create something called "skinsuits," and Twilight star Ashley Greene was one of the first actresses to try them out. Basically Greene is lounging around on the beach naked, wearing nothing but body paint in the pictures below. The best part is that these are pictures that she won't sue over, like she did when we published her real nudes previously. Greene has starred in both Twilight Saga films and the serial killer flick Summer's Moon. She is also in the upcoming supernatural/thriller The Apparation, with Gossip Girl's Sebastian Stan.

The Sundance Film Festival has unveiled the lineup of films playing in competition from January 21 through January 31, 2010. The early fest typically debuts some of the best films the year has to offer, like 2009’s Precious, (500) Days of Summer, and Moon.
I’m bummed I won’t be in Park City, Utah next month because the lineup looks great, and these are just the films playing in competition. Here’s a few that stood out to me:
The Allen Ginsberg trial film Howl starring James Franco, a documentary by Alex Gibney (a truly great filmmaker) on Jack Abramoff, Mark Ruffalo’s directorial debut Sympathy for Delicious, a doc about Joan Rivers, the directorial debut of “How I Met Your Mother” star Josh Radnor titled Happythankyoumoreplease (I wrote a glowing script review of it here), Hesher with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Natalie Portman, and Blue Valentine starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams.

Not much in the way of new DVD releases this week unless you're a Pixar fan, but then hey... who isn't a Pixar fan? Up is by far the biggest release of the week (so big that no one really wanted to go up against it) and I fully expect to hear reports of it breaking Blu-ray sales records at some point in the near future. Cars and Monsters, Inc. are also out on Blu-ray this week, along with both Heat and Red Heat. (That's called synergy.) Other new discs include The Ugly Truth starring Gerard Butler and Katherin Heigl, Spread starring Ashton Kutcher, and the 2008 Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner Ballast. What will you be renting or buying this week? Up [1] (DVD, Blu-ray [2]) The Ugly Truth [3] (DVD, Blu-ray [4]) Ballast [5] In The Loop [6] (Canada only) Spread [7] (DVD, Blu-ray [8]) Ink [9] The Echo [10] (DVD, Blu-ray [11]) American Virgin [12] Summer's Moon [13] The Accidental Husband [14] The Merry Gentleman [15] Mamma Mia!

If there is one disc sure to fly off shelves this week, it's this one. The Pixar film made instant fans out of most viewers, and agonizingly ripped the rest of our hearts out with the love story opening. In her review, Jette Kernion said Up is "a very good movie that defies demographic categorization." By now, your minds are probably made, but if not: Buy it. Also on Blu-ray.

How do you follow up comments about Knocked Up being a little bit sexist? By producing and starring in a film that teaches a smart and successful woman the "ugly truth" of life from a notorious chauvinist, naturally. In his review, Jeffrey M. Anderson wrote that this romcom "actually knows next to nothing about dating advice, the behaviors of men and women, or much of anything else romantically human.

You know it's a slow DVD release week when two of the offerings are a couple of rather obscure films whose main selling points are that they star folks from The Twilight Saga. And speaking of Twilight, if you can look at the new cover art for the Near Dark Blu-ray without thinking of those sparkly vamps, then you're one of the lucky ones.
So, which of the Twi-kids do we have on tap? Ashley Greene (who plays Edward's "sister" Alice) can be found in Summer's Moon (originally called Summer's Blood ... hmmmm, wonder why they made that name change?), in which a family of serial killers stalk a young woman out to find the father she's never known. Then we have Jackson Rathbone (who portrays, coincidentally, Alice's husband, Jasper Hale) in Hurt. The Twilight series' Ashley Greene is certainly keeping busy when she's not playing vampire Alice Cullen. In addition to New Moon, Greene's got the trashy slasher movie Summer's Moon out on DVD Nov. 10. And just last week, there was news she was in talks to star in the supernatural thriller The Apparition. I don't have much to say about either project yet (although, a DVD splatter movie called Summer's Moon timed for release in the same month as soon-to-be-blockbuster New Moon is inspired marketing, yes?) But it did get me thinking about what could lie ahead for an actress like...

Ashley Greene's next piece of non-Twilight work might just be Todd Lincoln's The Apparition, according to a recent Variety report. Apparently, Greene is in talks to star in the thriller film, and, if she does join the cast, she'll be starting in February. The film is to be written and directed by Lincoln, and, according to Variety, it "centers on a young couple haunted by a supernatural presence unleashed during a college experiment." If slated for the project, it certainly wouldn't be the first time she starred in a horror genre picture. In fact, her film Summer's Blood only recently made its way to DVD. In that film, Greene portrayed the victim of a kidnapping by a deran ...

Variety reports that Ashley Greene (pictured), who plays Alice Cullen in Twilight and the upcoming New Moon and Eclipse, is in talks to star in the Dark Castle production The Apparition. Todd Lincoln will direct the film from his own script, for producers Joel Silver, Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman. The Apparition, which we first told you about here, is the fact-based story of an experiment on a college campus that unleashes a supernatural presence, which proceeds to terrorize a young couple. The movie is set to roll February 1. Greene also toplines Summer’S Moon (a.k.a. Summer’S Blood), in which she’s captured by a deranged family led by Stephen McHattie, coming next Tuesday, November 10 on DVD from Lionsgate.

There has been a lot of talk about Ashley Green and her new horror film Summer's Moon on Horror Yearbook lately. And although I think it has just been an excuse to post pictures of Greene in a bikini, here is the trailer and official synopsis for those of you who are actually interested in the film. Director Lee Demarbre's (Smash Cut, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter) Summer's Moon arrives on DVD November 10, 2009. Hardened teenager Summer (Ashley Greene - The Twilight Saga) is on the road looking to meet her estranged father but her only clue to his whereabouts is a letter from a rural community called Massey. Once she arrives in town, Summer is rescued from a run-in with the law by a charming local handyman named Tom. The couple quickly hit it off and head back to the house Tom shares with his mother. Summer soon...

Hey, it’s another Moon movie with Ashley Greene! The Twilight star plays vampire Alice Cullen in New Moon but she's definitely the prey in Summer’s Moon (formerly titled Summer’s Blood). She plays Summer, a girl on a road trip who is “rescued” by a local handyman. Unfortunately, he has more than a one-night stand in mind: he and his twisted family take her prisoner. Judging from the trailer alone, it could either be trashy fun or just trash. It’s out on DVD on Nov. 10. Based on this trailer, do you want to see all of Summer's Moon?...

Horror fans may not care about the sexy Twilight star Ashley Greene (who you may remember was also the star of a nude picture scandal) now, but perhaps they should. For one we know she has no problem posing nude, and she is not above actually starring in real horror films, something she will prove when Lee Demarbre's (Smash Cut) Summer's Blood is released. Greene plays "Summer" who is captured by a family of serial killers while she is on a road trip. Greene also recently posed for Men's Magazine and revealed some of her dating preferences... You know in case you ever wanted to date her.

The only Twilight news worth posting is the "news" about the stars of the film getting naked, but since Ashley Greene's lawyers had her nudes removed from the Interwebs, we're stuck with just bikini pictures for now. I'm not sure if these are old, new, or where they are actually from, but they popped up on one of my favorite celebrity websites today, and I thought I would share. Greene looks kind of young in these bikini pics. Does anyone know where they're from? Greene plays Alice Cullen in the Twilight Saga films. The Twilight Saga: New Moon opens in theaters on November 20, 2009. She is also starring in Summer aka Summer's Blood that should be arriving on DVD from Lionsgate on November 10th. In Summer's Blood Greene plays Summer, a young woman who takes a road trip to track down her estranged father. She winds up in the clutches...

The Eclipse cast had a bit of a break for Labor Day weekend so a handful of them took the opportunity to take off from Vancouver. Kristen Stewart stuck around and was without her controversial Bella wig to go shopping on Sunday. She was accompanied by Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed and Nikki's boyfriend Paris Latsis. There were no Robert Pattinson sightings, but some of the other cute guys like Xavier Samuel and Jackson Rathbone were downtown in the Canadian city. Kellan Lutz went without a shirt Saturday as he took a stroll around his La home, continuing his streak of heading out of town during time off from filming. He was joined in California by his costar Ashley Greene, who was decked out in red Sunday for an afternoon by the pool of the Roosevelt Hotel. Peter Facinelli was also home for the holiday, but was already on his way back to set on Monday.

Ashley Greene took a break from her work on Eclipse up in Vancouver to head down to La for the long weekend. She arrived back in California yesterday with her doggie and was all smiles as she headed into some meetings yesterday afternoon. Beyond all her work, Ashley also found at least a moment of romance this Summer when she shared a sweet kiss with Chace Crawford, but these days she spends more time as Alice than Ashley. Brace yourselves for a side of Ashley Greene that you've never seen before. One of the Twilight babe's earlier works, Summer's Blood, has been rechristened Summer's Moon and will be available on DVD November 10. (Interestingly, right about the time that Twilight sequel New Moon hits theaters. Hmm.) Billed as "one of the most deranged, shocking and twisted family thrillers ever made," the film stars Greene as Summer, a teen girl who goes searching for her estranged father and winds up in a rural community called Massey. Once there, things take a turn for the violent, as demonstrated in the trailer below: Let...

Chicago – MTV has confirmed that the first single from the “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” soundtrack will be Death Cab For Cutie’s “Meet Me on the Equinox.” The song will debut exclusively on MTV’s website on the day of the MTV Video Music Awards, September 13th, 2009.
In an MTV News interview, bassist Nick Hammer said, “I think that a lot of our songs in general concern a lot of the things the main characters in the books are going through: There’s a lot of stuff about relationships beginning and ending, and the questioning that happens around being in love and falling out of love.”

With the titles of the Ghosthouse Underground label filling up the majority of their October horror DVD slate, November brings us Lionsgate's sloppy seconds. I mean, a horror movie getting dumped onto DVD a week or two after Halloween strikes me as an afterthought on the distributor's part. Lionsgate has three such chillers getting the post-Halloween DVD mistreatment.
First up, on November 3rd, is The Beast Within - no relation to the notorious 1982 creature feature about a woman raped by a monster who gives birth to a son that as a teenager transforms into a giant cicada creature. This Beast Within is actually a retitling of a German film originally called Virus Undead from director Wolf Wolff (haven't heard a name like that since Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever director Kaos) about a strain of avian flu that turns victims into zombies.

As the summer blazes on, celebrity romance has been heating up. New couples like Renée Zellweger and Bradley Cooper - who escaped to Barcelona recently - and Twilight costars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson - who have been quietly hanging out - have emerged. Meanwhile, Chace Crawford was spotted smooching Twilight's Ashley Greene. And exes Drew Barrymore and Justin Long say they're just friends, but the two, who are filming Going the Distance together, sure seem like more than that off-camera. So, tell us, as Labor Day approaches and summer winds down, which celebrity couple do you hope will last until fall?...

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that it will release a new psychochiller starring Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in Twilight and the upcoming The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The movie was originally lensed (in Ottawa, Canada) as Summer and has also been known as Summer’S Blood, but for some strange reason, it has been rechristened Summer’S Moon for its DVD release.
Streeting November 10, the film casts Greene as Summer, a young woman who takes a road trip to track down her estranged father. She winds up in the clutches of a handyman who at first seems friendly, but proves to be one of a family of maniacs who take her prisoner. The cast also includes A History Of Violence’s Stephen McHattie, Barbara Niven, Peter Mooney and Danielle Kind; Smash Cut’s Lee Demarbre directed from a script by Sean Hogan and Christine Conradt. Sweeping this year's MTV Movie Awards apparently is not enough for "Twilight" as it dominates yet another awards show, the 11th Annual Teen Choice Awards. On August 9, a day before Teen Choice is aired on small screen, the vampire drama has been unveiled to be the recipient of nine surfboard trophies, eight of them came from the movie section alone.
This Catherine Hardwicke-directed movie nabbed Choice Movie Drama, besting over "Angels & Demons", "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", "Obsessed" and "Slumdog Millionaire". Its cast members, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Cam Gigandet, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner, all took home one kudo each in the performers category.
In addition to their Choice Movie Actress and Actor in Drama, Stewart and Pattinson landed Choice Movie Liplock as well. Pattinson also grabbed Choice Movie Rumble which he shared with Gigandet. Beside the movie trophies, "Twilight" also collected Choice Music Soundtrack title, beating...

The Twilight Saga: New Moon (also starring: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner) and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Ashley Greene was on Good Day L.A. this morning, promoting the Teen Choice Awards. Greene talked with the anchors about everything from New Moon to a small, as-yet-unreleased film of hers entitled Summer's Blood, and much more. This video also serves as a reminder that not every interviewer is amply aware of all things Twilight, but that our stars still know how to handle a silly question or two with grace and class.

According to PerezHilton.com, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is slated to start production when filming for the third movie wraps. This news comes from an interview with Alice actress Ashley Greene, in which she said "We're going to start right after Eclipse."
With Eclipse due for release in June 2010, we could well see Breaking Dawn before the end of Summer 2011. Talk about cashing in on the saga's success — Summit is rolling these movies out faster than the books sold on release day.
