Warning: Contains potential spoilers for Dandadan Season TwoDandadan's first season took the anime world by storm, stealing the hearts of viewers with its energetic pacing and lovable characters. With Season Two just around the corner, the series' return in July is shaping up to be one of 2025's most anticipated releases. Outside of a new trailer and some promo art, little has been revealed regarding how much of the manga's events will be covered, though it seems the team behind the production has sneakily shared some new information about it.
Brought to light by X user, DheeruPra, a recent interview gave a look at some Season Two storyboards, revealing at least one arc that will be covered to completion in the upcoming release. Given that the earliest portions of the Evil Eye arc began during Season One's final episodes, fans expected Season Two to cover the rest of the section's events.

Dandadan was arguably 2024's hottest anime, skyrocketing the series to mainstream success and landing itself comfortably in Netflix's most popular titles with every episode released. The supernatural romantic journey shared between split protagonists Momo and Okarun captured the hearts of fans worldwide, elevating the series to the forefront of the anime world. Now, a new report from Japanese media outlet Mantanweb has revealed that the sales of Dandadan's original manga have doubled since the anime's premiere.
Written and illustrated weekly by Yukinobu Tatsu, Dandadan debuted on Shōnen Jump's digital publication, Jump+, in August 2021, and slowly built a sizable following for the many reasons its anime adaptation has found success. Already spanning nearly 200 chapters of story, it seems Tatsu has no current plans for halting his series. In fact, the series creator even assisted with production on the anime. Which Dandadan Characters From the Manga are Expected to Show Up Next Season? - Main Image
The first season of Dandadan is set to introduce several characters from the manga, but like any shonen anime, Okarun and Momo’s group is expected to grow as their adventures continue.
The anime had just finished the arc of Aira/Acrobatic Silky, so the next series mainstay is expected to make an appearance in Momo’s childhood friend Jiji. Some fans expect Jiji’s Evil Eye arc will close the series, but it’s possible that he could only be appearing for a few episodes that won’t even close his story.
That being said, there are some recurring characters in the manga that aren’t expected to show up just yet, but for a heads up, here’s who fans could be expecting to join Momo and Okarun’s ranks come the next season.

Mexican horror movies have always been about it seems but there’s never been enough of them in the mainstream to make them popular enough that fans would call it a sub-genre of any kind. Issa Lopez has perhaps changed this in recent years, starting with the excellent Tigers Are Not Afraid. Parvulos is hoping to continue the high quality of that Mexican horror movie.
Unfortunately, or maybe not because it’s a good thing, you don’t want to know too much about Parvulos before watching it. But what I will say is that it involves two brothers living in a cabin in the woods, in some kind of post-apocalyptic world. We soon discover that they are hiding...

Our friends at Celluloid Screams announced their programme for this year's festival. This year's programme is bookended by two Spanish-language films. The Elderly, a film I rather enjoyed this Summer, will open the festival while the much anticipated horror flick, Evil Eye, from our friend Isaac Ezban is slated to close out the festival. Other Spanish-language films include The Passenger, the first film from the duo behind The Elderly, Raúl Cerezo and Fernando González Gómez, and Huesera, the Tribeca award winner from Michelle Garza Cervera. Other festival faves include The Harbinger, Something in the Dirt, Watcher and Holy Shit! There are a couple rep screenings worth noting - Bubba Ho-tep and Evil Dead 2 - but what really has our attention is the Ghostwatch: A 30th Anniversary...

Exclusive: Oscar-nominated actress Adriana Barraza is set to serve up some scares in the next slate of films in the horror anthology Welcome To The Blumhouse at Amazon studios. The influential Mexican actress will star in Bingo directed and co-written by rising genre filmmaker Gigi Saul Guerrero. The film is currently in production.
The collaboration is a Latinx-driven narrative that includes two generations of Mexican artists. In this case, it is legendary veteran actress Barraza and the up and comer Guerrero. This is a major win as we have seen a severe lack of Latinx representation in film and TV.

Over the years, the actress says, she has found a certain confidence where she wants to take chances, and not stick to what is perceived safe.

We're not going to say these are the best horror flicks to watch, ever.
But we are gonna say there are a bunch of random streaming spooks with which to busy ourselves this pandemic-riddled All Hallow's Eve. We've checked many out for you here -- but are you like me, thinking there isn't really a such thing as a "scary" movie?
Anyhoodles, instead of sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves with nothing to do, we can sit around feeling sorry for ourselves and watch some creepy shit. Now, in no particular order:
Jessabelle (Hulu) - 2014
Just as they are about to start a new life together, Jesse (Sarah Snook) and her boyfriend get into a hardcore car accident, killing him, crippling her.
Moving in with her estranged father to recover back "home," Jesse encounters a lingering, dark spirit.
Is this entity the tormenting or the tormented? And what does it...

The first footage from Halloween Kills was unveiled today during Blumfest, a one-day online event focused on new and upcoming movie and TV projects from the Blumhouse production company.
The sequel to 2018’s Halloween, the successful, acclaimed reboot and follow-up to John Carpenter’s original 1978 classic, is bringing back several legacy characters from that movie, with the teaser giving us our first quick glimpses of three of them. Take a look and see if you can spot them!
At approximately :20 in the 36-second trailer, that is Nancy Stephens as Nurse Marion Chambers, who was Dr. Sam Loomis’ assistant in the original Carpenter film and played the role in Halloween II (1981) and Halloween H20 (1998). Although the character died in the latter film, the current Halloween movies pretty much ignore or retcon everything that happened in the sequels, so Marion is back!
Next up at :23 is Kyle Richards, best known...

Evil Eye (Amazon Prime)
Starring Sarita Choudhury, Sunita Mani, Omar Maskati, Bernard White
Directed by Elan & Rajeev Dassani
There is very little reason why we should sit through this blindly fallacious fear fare. Yes, there is one good performance. And it’s always a pleasure to watch Sarita Cahoudhary ever since she made her memorable debut opposite, ahem, Denzel Washington in Mira Nair’s Mississippi Masala. We don’t see her often enough. But if this is the kind of cinema we get to see her in then we might as well not see her.
The evil in Evil Eye is such a dispensable imposition that we are left looking at a plot that seems to have been written with the sole purpose of making super naturalism look cool. Regrettably the eerie twist at the end is anything but convincing, let alone credible.
The story works better as a mother-daughter...

Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently spoke about her new all South Asian cast release, Evil Eye, produced under her home banner Purple Pebble Pictures and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions. The actress says the project is “a big deal” for her because of multiple aspects, one of which is the ‘two really strong female parts’, played by actresses of South Asian heritage: Sarita Choudhury and Sunita Mani.
Speaking with US-based entertainment television newsmagazine Entertainment Tonight, Priyanka weighed in on the diverse cast and said she wants to create opportunities for South Asian artists in Hollywood through her production house. “My quest in life, as a producer, is to influx Hollywood with brown people, because we don’t see enough of us. Lover Come Back: The Dassani Brothers Explore Obsessive Love Through Genre Veil
For their feature film debut Evil Eye, brothers Elan and Rajeev Dassani straddle a set of juxtapositions, across two continents, two time periods and the thin distinction between life and death. Unfortunately, it’s somewhat of a Trojan Horse, masquerading as an ill-suited genre effort merely as a way to avoid explaining any real parameters for the supernatural conceit serving as the dramatic catalyst.
Still, it’s a welcome lead opportunity for the ever-luminous Sarita Choudhury, even though her character’s deep-seated cultural convictions could have been more deeply drawn. A notable supporting cast assists in keeping the narrative rolling to the end credits, but your own eyes might be turned skyward in displeasure if you make it to the fade out.…...

The sheer range of genres represented by this week’s new releases — from Liam Neeson thriller “Honest Thief” to romantic weepie “2 Hearts” — suggests that distributors of all kinds are doing their best to give audiences the kind of selection they enjoyed before the lockdown.
Well, nearly all kinds of distributors.
The major studios are still playing it safe and holding their tentpoles for a time when they can pack the megaplexes, although Paramount has stepped in with a fun post-apocalyptic adventure, “Love and Monsters,” which goes straight to PVOD, and Sony picked up an unconventional neo-noir called “The Kid Detective” out of the Toronto Film Festival that sneaks into theaters today. Pre-Halloween horror offerings continue, as Amazon Prime releases two more titles in its Welcome to the Blumhouse series: “Evil Eye” and “Nocturne.”
Art-houses land a major title in 2019 Venice Film Festival winner “Martin Eden,” an Italian adaptation of the Jack London novel.

Blumhouse’s “Evil Eye” is a horror film that delves deeply into reincarnation and other Hindu philosophies, and star Sunita Mani saw similarities between the film and her personal life — one that was particularly “spooky.”
“My mom’s name is Usha, so when I read that in the script, I was like, spooky!” Mani told TheWrap, referencing Sarita Choudhury’s character, who plays Mani’s mother in the film. She explained that her connection to India became ingrained in her from a very early age, living in a south Indian household in Tennessee. She was made aware of the religion and customs through her parents and letters from her cousins who still lived in India.
“I definitely grew up with the concept of Evil Eye and reincarnation and the idea that family members or my mom would check charts and astrological signs, that’s huge in conversation and something that...

In the tradition of the best horror filmmakers, the Dassanis crafted innovative ways to frighten viewers using sound and image. “What’s great about making a film like Evil Eye is that you can play around with the genre elements,” says Elan. “You can shoot scenes entirely in silhouette, or add creepy audio effects,...
