Directed by Sunil Ibrahim starring Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sija Rose, Shine Tom Chacko in lead role.
Premiered directly on Sony Liv Platform from 09th December 2022.
Plot of the Movie.
Suraj playing the titular role is abnormally normal person. He had a weird psychological issue & that issue can be handled by his wife Teena played by Sija Rose. A dream comes in Roy's life & his wife follows her husband's dream and thereafter what happens in their life forms rest part of the movie.
Analysis of the Movie.
1) A story narrated in a slow pace. It is a thriller but not the contemporary way of thriller storytelling being approached by Sunil Ibrahim.
2) Suraj undergoing a rare kind of psychiatric disorder where he knows the pain he undergoes & how society looks upon him & when on one day suddenly when his wife who is his only aid disappears, the realization of vacuum in his life had been beautifully portrayed by him.
3) Sija Rose in her minimal screen presence had done an Ok performance.
4) Shine Tom Chacko as investigative officer had done justice to his role.
5) As the title, the story travels through Roy. What Roy feels, the mystery unlocks accordingly.
6) Overall, for many it might feel bored as we might feel at this moment an element of thrill which is being observed in other movies but if we view from other side, in this way also a triller concept can be approached.
7) If we need to experience a different thriller movie, Roy will be the cup of tea.

The movie started well and kept the viewers interested for a while and started to fade away. The movie also moves at a slow pace. The climax of the movie was also left incomplete with many questions unanswered. The actress did a good job and Suraj , shine was just ok. Suraj needs a bit more improvement in taking serious roles. Sometimes he is just reactionless and stares at the camera before making a gesture. The movie bgm should have also created a bit more intense atmosphere. There was dullness in the middle. When the director watches this movie, he definitely would have felt as he could have executed it better with explained climax.

This is a pyschological thriller movie. The main positive of the movie is suraj venjaramoods character Roy, the character design was so unique, not seen this kind of characters usually in malayalam cinema. Suraj played his character nicely. The movie is pretty slow paced, takes its time with the naration. They spend a lot of time establishing surajs character but that doesn't enhance the overall movie in a much way. The movies main plot deals with a missing of two characters and the investigation dealing with this case, but they could not effectively create a connection between the surajs character and the missing case. The climax falls very flat, fails to create any kind of impact. There were a few moments in the writing showing the confusions and the struggle suraj's character goes through due to his mental conditions, thoes were done good. Shine tom chacko gave a decent performance. Personally I feel the movie had a lot of possiblities if the climax and the total writing would have been improved a bit more. Now it's just feels like a pretty average movie but nice attempt.

Director Sunil Ibrahim's movies always have great ideas. But when that is develped into a screenplay, it loses its impact. There is sometimes a rush to reach to the main point he wants to communicate. So in that rush, the scenes leading upto that are written , shot poorly and when I see that I wonder why was that even shown.
When it comes to this movie, there are lame things such as a person getting into a car and driving away shown in 4 shots!! And i wondered why ? Was that to make it 2 hours duration ( for telecasting in TV , films need to be of minimum 2 hours duration). Here Again, the idea of Roy is interesting , the character is interesting. But with that idea what the writer-director does is very average and easy forgettable.
Apt movie for an OTT and will be engaging if watched with a finger on 'skip some frames forward' button.

The writer/director of this film Sunil Ibrahim is well known for his works which blended the psychological and unparalleled mindset of human beings into some extraordinary depictions. When we trace back to his earlier films like Chapters and Arikil Oraal we can find this kind of freshness and relate those films with some of the films from Hollywood and Korea. I just thought about the movie Arikil Oraal, which has some faraway resemblance to David Fincher's Seven. Anyway, this kind of narrative pattern and plot orientation is so alien to the Malayalam film industry and thus to the audience and that's why Sunil has some kind of importance. His latest one Roy also follows the same path where the protagonist has some sort of mental disorder. The film simultaneously blends with reality and dreams which confuses the audience in one way or the other. The structural enlargement of the movie is quite odd, in the sense it's going too slow and the viewers find it difficult to get into the core of the movie. When we enter into the actual premise then we feel ordinary in the way of approaching and establishing the things that we mentioned earlier. The thriller effect is not much intriguing and the accompanying background score is ineffective. The simplest kind of narration was the kinetic approach but that kind of making didn't worth it when it amalgamated with the totality of the movie.

With a poster like Roy's, you can only be enticed to immediately watch the movie as you wanna discover who this Roy of a guy is. Then, the thrill slowly dies down as the film regrettably fails to be fascinating😞
DELICIOUS
-Hats off to the cinematography team who produced amazing thriller-oriented visuals
-We greatly admired Roy's bravery; despite his mental condition, he didn't allow anyone to discourage him.
BLAND
-Roy's wife, according to the story, is supposed to be a bit younger than him; but Sija Rose looked more like a daughter than a wife😳
-Suraj has featured in similar thrillers like Heaven and Pathaam Valavu; the common denominator is that these screenplays have the potential of being great but don't lead to a targeted destination
-What deflated 'Roy' was the absence of engagement during the storytelling; we figured out the trajectory of the film from the beginning
-There were great actors on this set including Shine Tom Chacko and Riya Saira; yet, they failed to shine. Performance across actors was rather passive.

Who the hell makes these kind of movies
Is director out of his mind or the actors are too expensive to shoot for another half an hour
Why the hell you want to make a film with 0 ending
Completely flop film deserves -ve ratings.

Slow paced psychological thriller. Once you figure out the mental quagmire the protagonist is in, this movie will entertain you. Suits viewers who are more thrilled by uncanny evolving in the most familiar of circumstances rather than screaming ghosts and visible phantoms. Suraj Venjaranmod as usual did a fine job in his character. The climax could have been made better if it revealed all the villains involved in the crime spoken about. The vintage car in the movie and the house where Roy stays at completely captures the viewer imagination. Do not watch this movie with high expectations and then it might surprise you.
