Alice in Borderland season 2 ended with an ominous reveal of a Joker card in the real world, raising the question of what this means for the upcoming season 3. When Alice in Borderland season 2 was released, a third season had yet to be announced by Netflix. Given that the end of season 2 was very similar to that of Haro Asos manga, many assumed that there would not be a third season of the Netflix live-action show. However, there was indeed a major sequel hook in the season 2 finale in the form of the Joker card.
In Alice in Borderland, Arisu has to play deadly games in a strange version of the world he knew to survive. Each of the games is represented by a playing card, with the Face Card games being the most difficult ones and featured exclusively in the second season. At the end of season 2, we discover that...

One of the biggest problems with Alice in Borderland was how some characters had plot armor, and while the reason behind it would be explained at the end of season 2, the upcoming third season can avoid this issue altogether. Alice in Borderland was renewed for season 3 a few months after the release of the second season in a surprising announcement. While the show had been successful for Netflix since the first season, Alice in Borderland had run out of source material by the end of season 2 and arguably didnt need a third season.
That said, Netflixs live-action adaptation of Alice in Borderland has already diverged from the Haro Aso manga in a lot of ways. The fact that the show has worked despite the changes to the source material indicates that the upcoming Alice in Borderland season 3 will even though it no longer has the manga to adapt. Although Alice in Borderland season 3 is happening, I predict Chishiya, arguably the shows most popular character, will be very different once he returns. The news that Alice in Borderland had been renewed for season 3 was surprising considering that no stories were left from the manga to be covered. Apart from Alice in Borderland: Retry, an epilogue confirming that Arisu and Usagi eventually got married, the Netflix series has already covered the entire manga. As a result, its difficult to predict what Alice in Borderland season 3s story will be about.
Haro Asos Alice in Borderland manga ends with Arisu declining to stay in the Borderland and waking up in the real world alongside the other characters. We then learn that the Borderland was a limbo between life and death, with Arisu and the others fighting for their lives after a comet hit Tokyo. This is precisely what happens in Alice in Borderland season 2s finale.

There's no room for Chota & Karube in Alice in Borderland season 3 given how season 2 ended. Arisu's growth in Alice in Borderland must be preserved; he decided to continue leaving and honor his friends. Arisus journey had a perfect conclusion in season 2.
Alice in Borderlands most underrated characters made the show better despite their relatively short screen time, but they cannot return in season 3 without ruining Arisus character development. Following an intense finale in which the true nature of the Borderland was revealed, Alice in Borderland was renewed for season 3. While the series has been successful for Netflix since its debut in 2020, the season 3 renewal was surprising given how Alice in Borderland season 2 ended. Haro Asos manga ends with Arisu waking up in the real world just like season 2 did.
Therefore, Alice in Borderland wont have the source material to pull from and is expected to be an original story.

Alice in Borderland season 3 should bring the games to the real world. Declining to stay in the Borderland at the end of season 2 made Arisu ready to live again. Real-world games would raise the stakes, making the challenges a real fight for survival.
Alice in Borderland season 3 has a major challenge after season 2s perfect ending, but I know just the right story for the Netflix show to tackle next. One of the best live-action adaptations on Netflix, Alice in Borderland brought Haro Asos manga to the screen and became a hit for the platform. Even though Alice in Borderland season 2s finale caught up with the manga's ending and concluded the story, the show will return for season 3. Im excited to see how the series will continue past the source material.

Alice In Borderland season 2 felt like a conclusion and did not need a season 3. Season 3 won't have manga source material to base the story on. Season 3 may undo the perfect ending of season 2 but could still work.
Alice in Borderland season 3 is happening on Netflix, and I have mixed feelings about whether the show should return after season 2s perfect ending. Netflixs Alice in Borderland is based on the manga of the same name by Haro Aso, which also received a mini-anime adaptation before becoming a live-action series. The Alice in Borderland show has arguably surpassed the popularity of the manga, with the series becoming a worldwide hit. Therefore, I can't say I was too surprised that Alice in Borderland was renewed for season 3, even though season 2 felt like a definitive conclusion for the show.

Chishiya's character in Alice in Borderland season 3 will be challenging to incorporate due to his season 2 ending. Chishiya's character undergoes significant development in the "Beauty Contest" game, transforming from a nonchalant individual to someone who values life. Season 3 cannot reverse Chishiya's character development, and a "redeemed" Chishiya would still be interesting.
Alice in Borderland season 3 needs Chishiya, yet it will not be easy to incorporate the character into the story after his season 2 ending. Even though Alice in Borderland season 2’s finale felt like a perfect conclusion to the series, Arisu’s story will continue. Which characters other than Arisu and Usagi will return in the next season remains to be seen, but Alice in Borderland would not be the same show without Chishiya.
Assuming that Chishiya is in Alice in Borderland season 3, it will be interesting to see how the character will be treated given where his story ended.

The Alice in Borderland games are diverse and challenging, with different types and difficulty levels represented by playing cards. Even lower-rated games can be more challenging depending on the mechanics and players involved. Ranking the games by difficulty involves considering factors such as how players solve the game, the consequences for losing, and the twists and turns that occur. The second season introduces even deadlier games than the first. The adaptation of the Alice in Borderland manga for Netflix simplifies the games for better accessibility and pacing, sometimes altering or removing certain elements. However, the essence of high-stakes survival is still maintained in the series.
Alice in Borderland has given fans a compelling narrative, memorable characters, and intense life-or-death Alice in Borderland games. Every game in the series comes with a card that represents its type and difficulty level: spades for strength, clubs for cooperation, diamonds for intellect, and hearts for betrayal.

Warning: Contains spoilers for Alice in Borderland season 2.Alice in Borderland season 2 finale's Joker card tease is the show’s biggest yet most promising risk. As Arisu suggested at the beginning of Alice in Borderland season 2, beating all the Face Card games did bring the answers that both the players and the audiences were looking for. The “Borderlands” Arisu was existing in was the border between life and death just like in the manga, but the Netflix series differed from the original story in one big way.
Up to the end of Alice in Borderland season 2, the show has followed the Alice in Borderland manga very closely. Only a few games shown in the Netflix live-action adaptation did not originate from the manga, and most of the key moments in the original story were incorporated into the series. Perhaps the most significant difference between the Alice in Borderland manga and...
