A drama about an older guy who ends up in love with a young lady, they are 15 years apart in age. That's a big different in maturity.
She maybe pretty, cute & teach the boyfriend/lead cast an enjoyable life beyond work. But she is supposedly be 21, she still immature.
Bad script for her - Playing a remote car at a gala festival, ignoring her boyfriend at her party, invited Lu Zheng younger brother in for lunch in her home especially when she has promised him that he will stay away from the younger brother, a little inconsiderate behaviour towards her boyfriend in some scenes. There is a reason as to why young girl at hat age is too immature for relationship!
Childish, immature & inconsiderate!
Its irresponsible to get yourself drunk & dont know what happened & expects him to forgive you! He puts her first priority, she likes him & wanted him, he gives in & falls in love with her & accepted her but she ignores his feeling! One is supposed to feel sad for her but instead she deserves the pain she caused him.
This drama is not for everybody. Loved the lead male cast though, solid & cool performance! Aside from the female lead cast behaviour the rest is good. The merger & acquisition & treacherous business deals. Honestly I fast forward other irrelevant scenes that doesn't involved the main leads.

Gu Sheng Nan (Zhao Lu Si) had one dream... to fully express herself in the food she makes and master her cooking skills. She tought she was while at the Zijing Hotel as an assistant chef and having a secret relationship with the head chef. Ufortunately one day she catches him cheating on her and breaks things off with him.
When she thought things couldn't get worse she finds out that she might be out of a job. Unfortunately her encounter with her soon-to-be boss, CEO Lu Jin (Lin Shen).
He has the charisma, a sharp tongue, and a head for business ready to make the tough decissions when needed. He was ready to sentece the hotel to it's doom, but things change the moment he tastes Gu Sheng Nan's dishes.
Besides doing business Lu Jin's other passion is food and is very perculiar in what he eats. In a single bite his tastebuds revive.
They start an odd kind of relationship where it would lead them even they don't even know.

I don't watch many Chinese drama, but this one has definitely become one of my faves. The main FL and ML - Zhao Lusi and Lin Shen - shared a beautiful & sizzling chemistry onscreen and they looked lovable together. The scenes between these two in the show were simply heart-warming and adorable... that I simply love them!
Besides the food that were presented in the show and the age gap between Lu Jin and Sheng Nan (main characters) were mentioned, you can ignore that because it's the love story between them that will just make you fall in love.
Besides the lead actors, the other characters in the show gave an awesome performance and I can assure that this show was totally worth watching, that you will love it!

I Loved this!! It was absolutely adorable. It was like falling into one of my favorite books! So stinking cute at every turn. These two main leads had chemistry in droves! I couldn't get enough. I mean every time the camera captures them, you can just feel the heat! This is an age gap romance one of my all time fav tropes. And it think it was done so well. The angst and drama that comes with a younger girl and an older man, it was all there, the mother drama was vicious and of course there's got to be some unrequited love on both sides just to keep us on our toes! I highly recommend! I genuinely loved it!

Gu Sheng Nan. (Zhao Lu Si) showcases her true potential as a chef when an aggravating situation, and ill-fated misunderstanding, positions her against her prospective boss, the sharp-tongued CEO, Lu Jin(Lin Yu Shen).
Lu Jin, a prodigious entrepreneur, sets out to condemn the Zijing Hotel, changing his mind when he serendipitously comes across one of Sheng Nan's dishes. United by their passion for food, this improbable duo forges an unforeseen connection that takes them to an unanticipated destination.
In this romantic tale, you will find an age gap romance that is characterized by perfect chemistry, quick-witted one-liners, dramatic love rivals, obstacles, and everyday life. There's no better way to spend a rainy day than by watching this series with a bowl of popcorn in hand.

This is a perfect score for a romantic comedy. It is highly entertaining, fast paced, never a dull moment, hilarious especially with Zhao Lusi as leading lady . She is bubbly, talented and a joy to watch. The romance is good and believable despite the age gap between the two leads. In fact, the age gap is deliberate as it was discussed in the series itself. These two leads have strong chemistry and are sweet and fun to watch together. The supporting cast is interesting to watch too. Love the creativity of cooking and food included in the series. This series scores on entertainment level and provides lots of laughter, romance and is everything a true romcom should be.

This is about a CEO who falls slowly for a much younger woman, a chef, through their mutual appreciation of food. Although I fail to understand how stone cold (or reheated) special friend rice can change a CEO decision to buy or not to buy a Hotel. Like Really?
The couple are so poles apart, that it is a slow realisation and acceptance that the couple really have feelings for each other before they go any further.
They are at completely different social and class levels and have to meet and learn about each others friends and family.
The drama focuses more on HER cohorts who are entertaining down to earth, rowdy, lively and genuine, her grandfather has a food stall. His are the usual stiff necked business people, with the possible exception of his driver, particularly his mother who is determined that he should not marry "down". Throw in a semi neer do well younger brother and it speeds up.
The ML is very good and the FL has some way to go but came across as genuine with a huge amount of potential. She would be fabulous in a historical drama.
The script could do with a little/lot more work. The filming of the food was clearly given priority and done very well but over all it a good drama to pass the time when bored at home sick in bed.
Yes it is a HEA ending.

Before watching this, I watched the movie based on the same novel by Lan Bai Se: This Is Not What I Expected 2017. This tv series is a lot different from the movie but mostly ok for a romantic comedy drama. What was unsatisfying the most is the food, which looked rather unappetizing. I mean, for example who could be impressed by the fried rice that's gone cold, or reheated??
The acting is well displayed by all, but the script has so many loopholes and disconnect scenes. Espl taking an adaptation shouldn't have brought such flaws. I watched it only bcz of the music score and the SUPER DETAILED face expressions by actor Lin shen.

This drama combines all the clichés of the genre: older man falls for younger girl, rich man with poor hard working woman, lively, tough cookie with good friends , and he is a solitary, somber and serious, rich family meeting poor family, childhood friend, brother in search of recognition and love, female at work versus male at work domination, jealousy bla-bla-bla.. I believe that in order to make up a series with so many episodes, they searched all the clichés. The only thing that I really enjoyed are the photos of the food and meals. Still, at one time, this all disappeared, and it seems the girl is suddenly on holidays. The rest is pretty bad, even the actors are overplaying it.
