Lost in Love

In Chinese society the mythical phoenix represents (among other things) femininity, hence the phoenix imagery that appears throughout the film. In addition, director Guy Orlebar's fiancée's Chinese name means "beautiful phoenix". (The movie is dedicated "to the most beautiful phoenix in the world".). The phoenix tattoo on actress Aya Suyama is a real tattoo.

Magically Spawning Tables: In the penultimate nightclub scene, the hero Paul (played by Bene't Lynton) picks up a table which is immediately smashed into two by his rival (played by Gordon Liu). Paul promptly picks up another table (to use as protection) which has suddenly materialized in the same place as the location of the original table, even though it wasn't there moments earlier.

No butterflies, spiders or snakes were harmed during the making of this film.
