Did you know
- TriviaTien and Chiaotzu do not appear in this film, despite being seen on the poster. This was out of respect for Tien's voice actor Hirotaka Suzuoki, who had passed away. In the accompanying manga comic, they both appear in minor roles.
- GoofsMr. Satan is building a hotel in honor of his defeating Buu, and the press seem to know of Buu's existence. But Shenron erased everyone's memories of Buu following his defeat.
- Quotes
[in the aftermath of the feast]
Son Goku: [sees a piece of sushi] Vegeta, don't you want this?
[without waiting for an answer, he eats it]
Vegeta: YOU IDIOT! I was saving that sushi for last!
Son Goku: Oh, my mistake. Sorry.
[Vegeta grabs Goku's pork roast and chews it]
Son Goku: VEGETA! That... that was my char-siu pork!
Vegeta: Well, you had it coming!
Son Goku: I was saving that for the end!
Vegeta: Don't incur my wrath, now!
Son Goku: [goes Super Saiyan] I thought we were friends!
Vegeta: [goes Super Saiyan] You thought wrong!
- Crazy creditsThe intro sequence to the movie is an update of the opening credits of Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone (1989), with updated animation and slight modifications to represent the Z-Fighters and their families and friends in the aftermath of the Buu Saga.

Opening theme
Performed by Hironobu Kageyama
Lyrics by Yukinojô Mori
Music by Chiho Kiyôka
Arrangement by Kenji Yamamoto
Of course, a villain to fight does pop up eventually. It is a pair of villains so weak compared to our heroes that the fighters draw lots to see who will get to fight them.
As of right now, to the best of my knowledge, the movie hasn't received a Funimation English dub. So, be prepared to read subtitles if you don't speak Japanese.
The story does introduce a few things into continuity that I am not a fan of. Once the fight begins the story does lose some of its initial charm. The new characters this movie introduces aren't all that interesting, and they take time away that could be spent on the characters we came to see. At the time this came out, the world was hungry for some DragonBall content. All we had at the time was a couple episodes of Dragon Ball Z Abridged.
If you are a big fan of these characters and are excited about the prospect of Goku and Vegeta arguing over who gets the last bit of sushi, then this is the film for you. If that sounds boring, then you can go ahead and skip this one.
