Ya se ha publicado el tráiler de “Hotel Bitcoin”, la película dirigida por Manuel Sanabria (“La Pecera de Eva”) y Carlos ‘Pocho’ Villaverde (“La Fiesta”), y co-escrita por ambos directores junto a Ángela Obón (“4 Estrellas”).

“Hotel Bitcoin” cuenta la historia de un grupo de amigos tiene que sobrevivir durante un fin de semana dentro de un hotel con una cifra descomunal de dinero virtual que custodiar, poniendo a prueba su ingenio.

La comedia está protagonizada por Alejo Sauras (“Solo Química”), Pablo Chiapella (“La que se Avecina”), Canco Rodríguez (“Operación Camarón”), Mauricio Ochmann (“Papá o Mamá”), Marta Hazas (“Culpa Mía”), Leonor Lavado (“Mambo”) y Vanesa Romero (“La que se Avecina”). Beta Film has sold more than 100 hours of drama series to PBS Distribution-backed Walter Presents for the U.S., and Channel 4-backed Walter Presents for the U.K.

Five seasons of Italy’s gritty crime series “Rocco Schiavone” as well as Canadian mystery dramas “The Wall – The Chateau Murder” and “The Wall – The Orchard” will be available in both territories.

Included in the package of series for the U.S. only is the historical period drama “House of Promises.”

Among the titles bound for the U.K. only are the Spanish thriller “You Shall Not Lie,” and the Croatian-Ukrainian co-production “The Silence.”

Set in a remote Alpine region, crime series “Rocco Schiavone,” based on the bestselling novels by Antonio Manzini, follows the titular irascible deputy police chief. The series is produced by Rai Fiction and Cross Productions in association with Beta Film.

“Dating in Barcelona” has left to big ratings in Spain, both on its first window debut on Catalan public network TV3 and on Amazon’s Prime Video, where it bowed to become the streaming services most watched show.

Barcelona-based Filmax, the series production house, is now bringing the show to Conecta Fiction as one of its banner new offerings.

Written by Pau Freixas Èric Navarro, Ivan Mercadé, Clara Esparrach and Eduard Sola, it follows in the course of an episode two dates happening simultaneously in the city of Barcelona. Drawing contrast and larger social point from one another, the series manages to make insightful commentary on the modern ways of dating while shuttling dynamically from each story, always maintaining a lighter mood.

Beyond the appeals of the episodic format, bulwarked by something of a reaction to lengthy and lore-heavy series, the show’s minimalistic, self conclusive concept, only demanding performer...

Barcelona-based indie studio Filmax is hailing into Content Americas selling the semi-autobiographical series “Selftape,” made by members of a new generation of women TV writers and directors now building in Spain.

Described as fiction with autobiographical overtones, the series revolves around the real-life Spanish actresses and sisters, Joana Vilapuig and Mireia Vilapuig who, in a personal touch, found fame as teen actresses in “The Red Band Society,” one of Filmax’s most successful TV productions ever. A decade on, now 27 and 25, they are now figuring out how to move their careers forward and trying to find their place in the film-tv industry and life in a present which is far from certain. That sums up the malaise of much of their generation.

The sisters co-wrote the series with Ivan Mercadé, Carlos Robisco (“Lucky Strike”) and Clara Esparrach (“Three Days of Christmas”).

Beta Film’s high-concept spy thriller cycle “Agent Hamilton – New Missions” has scored a series of territory deals, including the U.S. and Northern Europe.

The stand-alone reboot of the “Agent Hamilton” series has been sold to MHz for the U.S., TV2 in Norway, Dr for Denmark, Npo for Netherlands and Syn for Island.

Based on the iconic novels and characters by best-selling author Jan Guillou, as was its predecessor “Agent Hamilton,” “New Missions” is produced by Dramacorp Pampas Studios in co-production with TV4/C-More, Beta Film and Zdf.

In further deals on its 2022 MipTV slate, the Munich-based international distributor has sold to France Télévision and Israel’s Hot Network the Norwegian YA series “Rod Knock,” a Fenomen and Storyline Studios production for Nrk, which is back for Season 3, and was honored with seven Gullruten awards in 2021.

Munich-based Beta Film has closed a raft of major deals over Europe and beyond on Spanish TV dramas “You Shall Not Lie” and “La Fortuna,” two of the most successful recent originals produced by Movistar Plus, Spain’s biggest pay-tv/SVOD operator.

Both series have been sold to Italy’s Rai and to HBO for its platform HBO Max for Eastern Europe, Benelux, the Nordics, Netherlands, and Portugal, among other territories.

A six-part thriller by Pau Freixas, co-creator of “The Red Band Society,” “You Shall Not Lie” was sold to Rtl Deutschland for Germany, where it will premiere on its streaming platform Rtl Plus this spring.

In France, the drama has been picked up by M6 with an exclusive window for its SVOD service Salto. Furthermore, Antenna TV secured rights for Greece and Cyprus, as well as Blue TV for Turkey.

Telefonica’s Movistar Plus, Spain’s biggest pay-tv/SVOD operator, has launched an in-house overseas sales division, Movistar Plus Internacional, headed up by former Sony and Buendía Estudios exec Maria Valenzuela.

Lorena Molloy, an ex-exec at The Mediapro Studio, has joined Movistar Plus Internacional beginning in March as its head of communication and marketing.

Valenzuela, who began working with the platform last summer, heading international strategy and business development, reports directly to Domingo Corral, Movistar Plus’ director of original production.

Movistar Plus Internacional is making further appointments, raising staff to around 10 employees, Valenzuela said. It will attend all major markets, beginning with Series Mania and MipTV/Canneseries, focusing at least in the short term on sales to Europe, Eastern Europe, U.S. and Latin America, she added.

Spanish broadcaster and streaming platform Movistar Plus has made major headway in the world of high-end original production by teaming with big-name creative talent to produce some of the most polished series to ever come from the Iberian Peninsula.

One such example can be seen in the upcoming drama thriller “They All Lie,” produced by Filmax. It recently premiered at Vitoria FesTVal and will feature in this year’s Beta Film Mipcom lineup as a market screening before airing in Spain in December.
