Giant Rats,Ford Austin sweats Machismo and cool explosions and rides ! Okay,So we open on a exotic Planet X and it's really neat,Until you get the extras viewed and found out it is a Porno Set .
The acting was on par with any on SYFY Channel and the deaths are more than that channel can handle.
We like this film on so many levels,That the budget cannot explain,Amazing look seen through out film.
Tasha as the lead goes thru a variety of emotions and always has this vulnerable, but menacing undertone.
Ford was at his pinnacle as a zero-budget leading man and really tries hard to show multiple sides to a character that is basically not likable.
Randal was truly stretching his acting skills with props, makeup and costume that made sense,In this scenario.
Leroy uses big real rats,Alongside his REEL RATS and his Remote control vehicles have it all in gear and his scale models of Los Angeles are breathtaking.

Jeff Leroy continues with his non-stop carnage and annihilation of EVERYTHING in sight. It doesn't matter what it is.....human, rat, tank, TV, brick wall. Everything is blown to smithereens. If you've seen his other flicks like CREEPIES and WEREWOLF IN A WOMENS PRISON, you know he's obsessed with models and miniatures.
These movies are not to be taken seriously, so disregard anybody commenting about the "bad" effects. They're meant to look like that. This is a parody of giant monster movies. Ford Austin steals the show as the Bruce Campbell hero type. I love the fact that there's no slowdown in this film. Not much time for gab. There's something happening every two minutes. Somebody get this director a bigger budget. Definitely a party movie. Invite a dozen friends over, order some pizzas, and enjoy.

RAT SCRATCH FEVER starts off with a disastrous mission to the mysterious Planet X, where gigantic rats run rampant! When the spaceship returns to Earth, there's only one survivor. The ship also contains rats. Lots of them!
Upon her rescue, the surviving Sonja (Tasha Tacosa) goes on a bloody rampage, having turned into some sort of rodent-driven vampire!
Enter the diabolical Dr. Christopher Steele (Randall Malone), who has a definite Dr. Phibes thing going on. He's also sporting an awesome pair of mechanical hands! This brings us to the rat-a-strophic finale, featuring Steele's ultimate killing machine!
Is this movie irredeemably absurd? Yes, please! It's also made entirely of rat-approved cheddar, making for a tasty treat! Instead of the usual, terrible CGI, we get 100% real rats with red, glowing eyes! There's even a bit of -be still my heart!- stop-motion! Annnd, the vehicles and exterior sets are miniatures!
Cheap? Oh yes! Gloriously so!
Outrageous, ridiculous, and more fun than a barrel full of rat traps, this movie is the rat's pajamas! Wha...? You're still here? Go watch this mouse-terpiece right now!...
Co-stars Phoebe Dollar in another of her crazy, a$$kicking roles!...
