I must regretfully confess that "Bholaa Shankar" left me utterly disheartened. The film's desperate attempt to mimic the triumph of the Tamil original "Vedhalam" falls woefully, shockingly short, and Chiranjeevi's portrayal in the lead role is nothing short of a monumental letdown. His performance lacks even a fraction of the magnetism and complexity that Ajith effortlessly infused into the character in the original.
To put it bluntly, this movie stands as an unequivocal low point in my year of cinematic experiences. The cringe-inducing moments are piled high, and the uncomfortable romantic subplot between Chiranjeevi and an actress young enough to be his daughter is impossible to disregard.
For anyone entertaining the thought of subjecting themselves to this film, I implore you to veer away from squandering your hard-earned money. The original iteration is conveniently accessible on YouTube with subtitles, presenting a considerably more satisfying option for entertainment. Rather than parting with your money for the dismal affair that is "Bholaa Shankar," I'd wholeheartedly recommend investing those funds in a sumptuous Zomato feast.
Chiranjeevi's decision to embrace such roles only serves to underscore the jarring contrast between his lackluster performances and the outstanding work of actors like Mammooty, who, at the age of 72, continue to shine in intellectually stimulating and artistically profound films. It's a stark reminder that there exist far more gratifying avenues for spending your time and resources than immersing yourself in the profound disappointment that "Bholaa Shankar" epitomizes.

Bhola Shankar is the Telugu remake of Tamil film Vedalam and it is a loyal remake with minor changes. Shankar (Chiranjeevi) has arrived in Kolkata along with his sister Mahalakshmi (Keerthy Suresh). The reason for him to move to Kolkata is get Maha admitted in a prestigious arts college there and he has another agenda, that is to kill the gang involved in human trafficking. Why is he after them is narrated in the flashback and how he kills them all forms rest of the story.
The original version too was below average, saved by Ajith's performance clubbed with Anirudh's bgm. The entire hype revolved around them and in the remake, it is exactly what missing. Sure, Megastar has given a committed performance to play to the gallery but there is no novelty factor. The narrative is so dated, right from the writing to execution, none of the scenes stood out. Even Chiranjeevi went through the emotions monotonously like everybody else on a paycheck.
The only thing they invested some ideas was on the inclusion of Pawan Kalyan songs and have Chiranjeevi imitate him for the sake of fans, otherwise the film remained a tedious watch throughout. None of the songs were memorable for Chiranjeevi's grace to save them. Action scenes were repetitive and nothing to boast about. In short, Megastar Chiranjeevi isn't enough to save this mess.

1. He need to stop acting in remakes. Remakes are like imitation of a wonderful story in it's worst way.
2. He should know his limits. He should stop romancing & focus on mass character/ family man character.
3. He is 68 & still doing romance with the actresses who his son had worked with.
4. He should give new scripts & script writers a chance to work.
5. He shouldn't intervene in the script. It feels like he is acting for the scripts which which are made from the same template.
In a nutshell, If he is ready to change, he could make revolution in his career. But if he is not, then nobody can save his career.

Chiranjeevi should stop making remake movies, literally this movie tested my patience to get out of the theatre, please don't waste your hard earned money to this waste movie,
What is the use for chiranjeevi to look very young and Romance a young heroine is this necessary at this age.
And coming to director Meher ramesh. I need to see the guy who said him to become director and make direction.
0/10 for music 0/10 for dop 0/10 for cinematography 0/10 for editing All the elements go 0 for this movie.
And chiranjeevi should really come out of those jabardasth comedian elevations and bhajana.
And the music director he is a son of famous music director mani sharma and he is literally gave dumb music.

Watching the Telugu movie Bhola Shankar, headlined by Chiranjeevi and directed by Meher Ramesh, is like going back in time by a few decades but not in a good way. The film repackages outdated, formulaic tropes and presents them with the confidence that star presence - Chiranjeevi, Tamannaah Bhatia and Keerthy Suresh - is enough to salvage a listless narrative. Meher Ramesh, credited with 'story development', adapts an eight-year-old Tamil film Vedalam starring Ajith, which was no great shakes either. What unravels is a cocktail of a sappy brother-sister bond, cardboard-ish villain characters, a leading lady who is supposed to contribute to absurd fun and comes across as utterly silly, a lot of tasteless humour and loud, forgetful music.

As a personal review, I must admit that "Bholaa Shankar" left me deeply disappointed. The film's attempt to replicate the success of the Tamil original "Vedhalam" falls drastically short, and Chiranjeevi's performance in the lead role is nothing less than disappointing. His portrayal lacks the charisma and depth that Ajith brought to the original character.
In all honesty, this movie stands as the worst cinematic experience I've had this year. The cringe-worthy moments, coupled with the uncomfortable romantic angle between Chiranjeevi and an actress of his daughter's age, were hard to overlook.
For those considering watching this film, I strongly advise against wasting your hard-earned money. The original version is freely available on YouTube with subtitles, offering a more fulfilling entertainment option. Rather than spending your money on "Bholaa Shankar," I'd suggest using those funds to treat yourself to a delicious meal through Zomato.
Chiranjeevi's decision to take on such roles only highlights the stark contrast between his performances and those of actors like Mammooty, who, at the age of 72, continue to excel in thought-provoking and artistic films. It's a reminder that there are far more rewarding ways to spend your time and resources than subjecting yourself to the disappointment that "Bholaa Shankar" brings.
My rating 0.00001/10.

"Bholaa Shankar," the remake of the Tamil film "Vedalam," made it clear in its trailer that moviegoers and fans should keep their expectations low. The songs were also not chart-toppers. Following the failures of "Shadow" and "Shakti," director Meher Ramesh became a target of trolls. So, no one had high expectations for this film. We, too, entered the theater with zero expectations. Meher Ramesh, the director of "Bholaa Shankar," has proven that he cannot even meet the lowest of expectations.
"Bholaa Shankar" is a complete damm bore movie. It neither entertains nor features appealing tunes, as one would expect from a Chiranjeevi film. This one is packed with outdated sequences and cringe-worthy situations.
A complete disappointment!
Stay Away.

Making cringe movies, especially cringe remakes, won't help you to regain popularity. As a matter of fact, everyone is calling you a cringe star. But I still don't know who's the most cringe... Of course we have Chiranjeevi still acting like he is in 1990. I think he's still stuck in some era like Marty McFly in Back to the Future. But we have other contestants for the Most Cringe Trophy. Keerthi Suresh must stop acting, if we call that acting, her voice is very irritating. Tamanna also very disappointing acting like a little child stuck in an attorney body. She is a parody of Shruti Hassan's character in Vedalam. The three villains are completely forgettable. But that's nothing compared to the director who decided to make the worst movie ever to witness the limits of patience of people. He didn't even understood Vedalam and decided to remake that movie but with all the cringe Telugu actors. But before the release of this... thing, director said Vedalam is very cringe. Yep, if Vedalam is so cringe, I don't know how cringe is Bhola Shankar. He literally scored an own goal, thus making the wonderful performance of shocking both movie-goers and football fans. My patience was broken at the fifth minute. After that, every comedy scene or action scene was unbearable to me. The court scene was horrible. There is nothing about Vedalam in this movie. Where is our true OG Ganesh ? Where are the charismatic villains ? Where are the thrilling songs and BGM ? Chiranjeevi must put an end to his acting career right now. Wigs don't suit you, man. Acting neither. Is he that bad in politics ? Tamanna and Keerthi must very urgently search something else to do, because acting is not for them. If I wanted two plants, I would go straight to the plant shop. Still they're acting for years so I think they have enormous salaries. That may explain why they didn't care about making good movies. We are talking about the same movie industry which, thankfully, gave us RRR, so that's very contrasting. Director also must put an end to his career... selling mangoes seems to be the right deal. The true MVP of this movie is Brahmandam. Shouldn't be compared with Vedalam ever.

Bad 1st half
comedy scenes didn't workout properly looks like artificial and some scenes are cringe, best stuff for trollers,BGM is ok
2nd half way better than 1st half with some emotional scenes
heroine character is not needed, heroine will appear only if songs needed,so many Cringe comedy scenes,no screenplay at all, just a routine commercial film, chiru should be wise while choosing scripts, may be fans will enjoy it,for me it's an average or below par
Positives
1 Chiru dance moves, looks like vintage moves 2 Chiru appearance 3 some emotional scenes between Keerthi and chiru
Negatives
1 Irritating songs 2 bad screenplay 3 unneccesary usage of PK movie reference 4 no proper usage of characters including heroine 5 routine story
Overall- Routine commercial film can't expect more than that 2/5.

I didn't waste my money on this poorly made movie so I am happy than many others who wasted their hard earned money. I made an attempt to watch this on OTT just to see my favorite hero's movie. From the get go, it's a 20 - 30 year old plot with sister/brother sentiment with a weak antagonist, ,and an army of comedians but miserably failed to create any good humor. Background score is horrible. For god's sake, please stop acting in these routine movies and accept roles such is more suite to your age. I don't know where the director learned his movie making skills but he should just go back to school and learn the craft.
The movie is good
Screenplay was nice there were no lags at anywhere it was edited also properly
Direction was very good the way he presented Megastar chiranjeevi was so nice
Music was good
Last song was so so nice
Bgm was really very good
Sets in last song is so good
Costumes in last song was so so impressive
Dance numbers were in Last song so do good
When ever it is remake the negativity starts even I did not like remakes but I did not watched the tamil movie I can predict story but it was well scripted in terms of screenplay like a proper commercial film with every thing that I expected. It is really one time watch movie not as bad as people spread negativity.
Meher really did good job compared to your old movies I really like the way u presented this production was good according to script..
My opinion it was good movie. One time watch family emotional movie.

"Bholaa Shankar" conforms to the familiar formula of a mainstream mass masala film, heavily influenced by the iconic "Baashaa." However, the director's focus in this narrative has notably gravitated towards the sentiment surrounding the sisterly relationship.
The storyline unfolds as follows: Chiranjeevi, alongside his endearing sister Keerthi Suresh, leads a modest life. However, He finds himself entangled with the underworld, driven by a distinct purpose. The film then delves into the motivation behind his actions and the strategic elimination of these unsavoury characters, forming the core of the plot.
Within the commercial genre, the film delivers a collection of entertaining and high-energy moments, catering particularly to the tastes of Chiranjeevi's ardent followers. His charismatic screen presence serves as a delightful treat for his fan base. Keerthi Suresh is allotted a significant role, and her performance aptly justifies her character's presence in the film. Tamannah and Sushanth are underutilised.
Yet, the film is not without its drawbacks, showcasing several negative aspects and logical inconsistencies. Surprisingly, Mahati Swara Sagar has fallen short in both the composition of songs and the creation of a compelling background score.
In summation, "Bholaa Shankar" emerges as a production primarily intended for the aficionados of Chiranjeevi, unfortunately falling short of making a lasting impression on the broader general audience.

As a fan of the Megastar I'm totally disappointed by Bhola Shankar. Remake movies have no value in the audiences now a days. Gone are the old days. Be it the music, cinematography, dialogues, editing, VFX and of course direction all have failed miserably. I still watched the movie 2 times in the theatre for the sake of Chiranjeevi. When Telugu Cinema is growing worldwide this is absolutely not what we expect from Chiru. Directors should come up with new subjects for the Megastar and use him in the best possible way and even Chiranjeevi garu must take a bold step and sign novel subjects which have depth in the storyline and intensity in action rather than placing scenes just for the sake of songs, comedy, dances & action episodes.

Seriously this movie is the worst remake of Tamil movie "VEDALAM". The harsh fact is actor Chiranjeevi is cousin brother of the director (Meher Ramesh) of this horrible movie.
This guy Meher Ramesh has been gained notoriety for destroying scripts and writing lousy screenplay, first he tried to destroy Jr. NTR's image by "Kantri" (Unofficial remake of Pokiri) and "Shakti". But Jr. NTR escaped from the clutches of this guy, next one is Prabhas who escaped miraculously by giving his best performance in Billa. The person who was known as "Victory star" in Tollywood I E Daggubati Venkatesh became prey to his horrible movie "Shadow", and this led him to get into back him form after a decade.
Now coming back to this movie " Bhola Shankar ", Here are the ratings.
1. Story: 0/10 stars 2. Screenplay: 0/10 stars 3. Direction: 0/10 stars 4. Music: 0/10 stars 5. Chiranjeevi acting : 0/10 stars 6. Tammanna Bhatia Acting : 0/10 stars 7. Hyper aadi acting : 0/10 stars Totally: 0 In apparently there were no emotions, no elevations etc. Only cringe has been added into this movie.
