The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced new additions to its leadership on Tuesday in the wake of this year’s #OscarsSoWhite controversy. Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs appointed Reginald Hudlin (directors branch), Gregory Nava (writers branch), and Jennifer Yuh Nelson (short films and feature animation branch) to join the Academy’s 51-seat Board of Governors for three-year terms. The Board of Governors also selected seven members of the Academy to join six existing Board committees.
