Periyasamy is a happily married man and a father to four children, one fine day when an astrologer predicts that a person from his family is going to lose their life, his wife dies. Years later, a brawl between the children snaps ties with their father. In the present, Eeswaran, the most loved man of the town, is looking after Periyasamy. Periyasamy is longing to meet his family, especially his grandchildren. Eeswaran now has a task to complete; making Periyasamy's long desire come true.

The above synopsis has been the template of a lot of rural-based movies from Tamil Cinema, and even the twist in the story or the revelation of a character has been very predictable. Director Suseenthiran has stuck to this routine template by adding an abstract of the current pandemic. In terms of story or screenplay, there is nothing fresh in this movie, but for the Simbu fans, they have a well-presented platter of whatever they require for satisfying their appetite. For a commercial entertainer movie, the writers keep in mind several mannerisms to display the 'Mass' of the central character. In Eeswaran, Simbu just has to snap his fingers or even his toes to exhibit his 'Mass'. In Simbu's recent movies, he has never fallen in love with anyone, instead, the female characters fall for him because of his kind-hearted nature, and the same happens in Eeswaran. With cringe-worthy comic scenes stuffed at unwanted places, a protagonist who's just there for the sake of it, and a Simbu who survives after being bitten by a cobra, but still manages to run after and beat the bad guys. Eeswaran is a film filled with clichés and pathetic writing. At the end of the film, there's a dialogue from Simbu to the Protagonist that goes like "If you are the 'Asuran' that have come to destroy, then I'm the 'Eeswaran' that have come to save them", and I can very much relate to this dialogue because I'm the 'Eeswaran' that has come to save you from watching this movie.

Something good story but very boring 😔. family's entertainment movie.

Useless movie. This pongal is for master not for eswaran. Master is a fantastic movie for pongal.Eswaran is not good movie and I have 5 stars only for Simbu transformation. waiting for maanaadu. Master is a good and nice movie and eswaran is a bad movie.

This film is nothing but a combination of several masala films with revenge plot that came some 20 years back. I do not understand why someone would waste time taking such a crappy storyline with just a flavour of Covid-19 added to it. Simply a wastage of time, not even for the simbu fans as usual. Simbu still thinks that Dhanush is his competitor and still has been keeping dialogues targeting him, I don't understand in which world he is living in but once he comes to the senses, maybe one fine day he'll understand that he's not even closer to Dhanush and he'll have to work very hard delivering good films consistently for the next decade to even reach him and by then Dhanush would've reached another milestone. Not sure if anybody's is even explaining this to him. Nothing could happen to him if he doesn't understand his status as to where he stands among his colleagues.

REVIEW: I Thought this Film was a Great Come back of Simbhu from continous Disaster but obviously Not. Same Village story. Overacting Film. Lagging & Logicless. Simbu Story Choosing is Very Poor. Definitely Forgettable Film

It is a usual Tamil drama but some good work in writing. Simbu acting is good but some of the scenes are usually seen in all family entertainer.Comdey works in some level and it is good.Some of the supportive roles are good Minus is usual drama. Good for one time watchable

A very Good family entertainer movie👌🏻..., A very good acting by Silambarasan tr😍... He is back with a bang👏🏻

Although storyline of this movie is very simple and easily predicable, still it's a good timepass entertainer. Comedy sequences by Munish Kanth, Bala Saravanan & Adhavan were very good and thoroughly laughable. Cinematography of Thiru was very good and highly commendable and some of the scenes were delight to watch. In spite of the regular storyline, acting of STR and Bharathi Raja was too goid.

First of all happy for str and his bounce back with his physique. But that's not the point here. Where is our old suseenthiran?. Still can't digest the movie. 2 hours yet dragging. Screenplay was never impressive. Bored within first 30 mins itself. Best bg score after Sketch for Thaman is Tamil industry. We want this str with more content movies. Watch it at your own risk.

Change the genre to comedy and I can raise 2-3 stars. Simbu's over hype in his entry felt more like comedy than hero entrance. Not sure when he will learn and grow up.

These types of plot are done before 20 years Nothing new same revenge concept Maybe a god watch if you are bored str mass transformation.
