The script was written by Marvin Faulkner as a method of therapy after losing his own wife to cancer. The film is dedicated to her memory.

The film was shot almost entirely in Mansfield TX and a few scenes shot in Ft Worth TX and Cancun Mexico.

This is the first feature length film directed by Jason Ward.

The movie was inspired by true events experienced by writer Marvin Faulkner.

Principal photography lasted almost two years, starting in early 2007 and continuing until October 2008. The film was shot almost exclusively on the weekends.
