Michael Kessler (The inspector) and Petra Nadolni (The sister of the inspector) both starred in the comedy shows Switch (1997) and Switch: Reloaded (2007). Their former cast colleagues Susanne Pätzold, Peter Nottmeier and Martin Klemptnow also appeared as episodic characters.
Most of the paintings shown in the episodes, especially in the mansion of Countess von Undzu are parodies of famous paintings, only with meerkats replacing the characters, like "The Scream", "The Girl With the Earing" or "Goethe in the Roman Campagna".
