The film Underwater (2020) similarly dealt with a team of humans encountering a gigantic Chthulu-like monster on the ocean floor, only with a considerably larger budget. Both films owe major debts to H.P. Lovecraft, but do not credit him.
The music was borrowed from a mix of The Martian and Dracula.
