Brainstorm Media’s horror slasher sees a masked killer invade a quiet weekend getaway and it’s now streaming on Screambox. There’s nowhere to hide for the teens fleeing from a tragic event.

The film is said to “take audiences on a ride of passion, loss, terror and horrific, unthinkable ways of seeking revenge.”

In Dark Windows, “A group of teenagers take a trip to an isolated summerhouse in the countryside. What starts as a peaceful getaway turns into a horrific nightmare when a masked man begins to terrorize them in the most gruesome ways.”

Written by Wolf Kraft, Dark Windows stars Anna Bullard (Marinette), Annie Hamilton (The Wolf of Snow Hollow), Rory Alexander, Jóel Sæmundsson, and Morten Holst.

It’s officially Halloween season and Screambox has revealed the new films that are joining the horror streaming service in October, including our brand new original series, “Tales from the Void”, the viral sensation Crackcoon, and the Ghostwatch-inspired Haunted Ulster Live.

On October 8, Haunted Ulster Live will take viewers back to Halloween 1998. Drawing comparisons to Ghostwatch and Late Night With the Devil, the Screambox Exclusive film is presented as a live broadcast from a haunted house that goes terrifyingly wrong.

Screambox has unleashed its October line-up, promising an eerie selection of horror films and series to keep viewers on edge as the spooky season sets in. The latest batch of releases features a mix of original content, cult classics, and frightful exclusives that will surely satisfy horror lovers, just in time for Halloween. Among the titles are Tales from the Void, Crackcoon, and Haunted Ulster Live, each bringing a different flavour of fear.

Leading the charge this month is Tales from the Void, a Screambox Original anthology series that taps into some of the most bone-chilling tales from Reddit’s famed NoSleep community. With new episodes arriving every Sunday from October 13 to October 27, this horror anthology draws inspiration from the viral stories that have haunted the dark corners of the internet. DarkGame, the latest thriller about dark doings on the Dark Web, opens with the masked figure known as The Presenter overseeing the murder of a bound woman in a manner chosen by the highest bidder. By the way, he chooses a chainsaw as the instrument of her demise. That’s followed by Detectives Ben Jacobs and Cathy Burnette rescuing two missing children from traffickers.

Ben has barely gotten home to his pregnant wife however when they’re called back into the station. The woman we saw killed in the opening scene had vanished without a trace a couple of weeks earlier. The footage is the only clue they have as to who is responsible, but the people behind it know how to cover their tracks.

Exclusive: Indie distributor Brainstorm Media has locked down North American rights to Laroy, a darkly comedic thriller starring John Magaro (First Cow), Steve Zahn (The White Lotus) and Dylan Baker (Happiness) that world premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Festival and nabbed three awards at the Deauville American Film Festival, including the Grand Prix, Audience Award, and Critics Award.

The film is the first from writer-director Shane Atkinson and is set for release in theaters and on digital in 2024.

This week is a bit of a “calm before the storm” situation, as the new horror releases are about to pick up big time on the road to Halloween. You can expect both September and October will be Packed with new horror, including to-be-announced titles that aren’t even on our radar at this time. REinvent International sales has closed deals on genre titles from its Chills label, including “Dark Windows,” “Leave” and “Shadow Island,” ahead of the EFM.

“Dark Windows,” Alex Herron’s English-language horror thriller, has been sold to the Mena region (Enl / Empire Network Ltd) and Latin America (Gussi). The movie tells the story of teenagers involved in a car crash who decide to stay at a summerhouse in the U.S. countryside to work through their grief and start being stalked by a masked man. “Dark Windows” stars Annie Hamilton, Anna Bullard, Rory Alexander, Joel Saemundsson and Morten Holst.

The company has also closed key sales on “Leave,” Herron’s debut film. The horror thriller sold to Italy (Plaion), Germany (Splendid) and Latin America (Gussi).
