Gal Gadot has revealed that she underwent emergency surgery on a brain clot at the same time as giving birth to her daughter.

In an emotional social media update, the Wonder Woman actress said she wanted to share the story of her trauma to help raise awareness of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis in pregnant women.

The ordeal took place in February during the eighth month of her pregnancy, when Gadot said she experienced “excruciating headaches” that confined her to bed.

After undergoing an Mri scan, surgery was recommended. “In one moment, my family and I were faced with how fragile life can be,” she said.

Gadot, 39, continued: “We rushed to the hospital, and within hours, I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear. Her name, meaning ‘my light’ wasn’t chosen by chance.

Oscar Isaac and Ana de Armas are set to executive produce and star in “Bananas” (working title), a new drama from David O. Russell and Fifth Season, in development at Apple TV+.

Details about the series, which is executive produced and written by Carolina Paiz, are being kept under wraps.

Isaac will executive produce through MadGene Media alongside Gena Konstantinakos. Russell will executive produce and direct the project.

Tentatively titled Bananas, it has Oscar Isaac and Ana de Armas set to star and executive produce, and David O. Russell attached to direct and executive produce, I hear. Now it’s official. Netflix has confirmed it is moving forward with a second season of anthology series Beef, and also confirmed, as we previously reported, that Oscar Isaac (Scenes From A Marriage), Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman), Charles Melton (May December) and Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla) will star in the upcoming installment.

The first season of the Netflix anthology series Beef turned out to be a massive success by any metric.

The sort of buzzed-about prestige show that streamers have been seeking with increasing desperation in recent years, Beef was as big with critics and award committees as it was with subscribers.

While the series has yet to officially be renewed, the move is an inevitable no-brainer for Netflix.

Of course, the show will face the usual sophomore season challenges that accompany the anthology format.

We don't know much about how Beef will tackle those issues from a storytelling perspective.

Though Scorsese has cameoed in many of his movies and occasionally performed in films by other directors – he played Vincent van Gogh in a segment of Akira Kurosawa’s 1990 film “Dreams” and also performed as voice talent as the loan shark pufferfish in “Shark Tale” – this role is likely to be among his meatiest.

Director Julian Schnabel has been developing the project for over a decade after Johnny Depp originally brought him the book. He is no longer starring in the project through, with Oscar taking over his role as Nick Tosches, who is the author of the novel.

It was announced today at CinemaCon, by Bob Berney, President, Theatrical Distribution that FilmDistrict will release The Rum Diary, based on the early Hunter S. Thompson novel that was ultimately published in 1998. It stars Johnny Depp and will be released on October 28, 2011. The film is directed by Bruce Robinson (“Withnail and I”) from his own screenplay and also stars Aaron Eckhart, Amber Heard, Michael Rispoli, Richard Jenkins and Giovanni Ribisi. “The Rum Diary” is produced by Infinitum Nihil, the production company headed by Depp and Christi Dembrowski, along with Graham King and Tim Headington.
