Tanasanga University, 2024. In the middle of a lecture, Professor Shugger is arrested by the police. Tensions develop between Moutari, leading law professor, Ganka, university chancellor and Aïcha, a brilliant student. At the same time, Aïcha is supporting the women at the wholesale market who face a major housing problem.

The Shugger scandal becomes increasingly acrimonious; Moutari, a lawyer, defends her. The students get together to actively support their professor and demand the financial help they lack. The situation also becomes increasingly heated amongst the young workers, who decide to launch a revolt after one of them suffers an accident.

Ganka is looking into Shugger's life and discovers that she's Aïcha's mother, but Aïcha refuses to listen. In any event, she is far too busy supporting the demonstrations by the young workers and is planning a joint protest with them and the students, together beneath Ganka's windows.

Moutari breaks the pact that prohibited him from getting involved in politics. Distraught, he posts a video on the social networks. As a result Ganka relieves him of all responsibility at the university. The mayor of Tanasanga having been forced to resign, early local elections are called.

Moutari decides to get back in touch with the UPLD and, after his unifying speech, becomes party leader. Aïcha puts him in touch with the youth movement. Ganka makes the most of International Women's Day to visit to women prisoners and announce his candidacy for the forthcoming municipal elections.

Moutari explains his past to Aïcha and decides to announce he's standing for the local elections against Ganka, under the UPLD banner. It's discovered that Bintou, a cyber-activist blogger with an eye on everything that's going on at the town hall, has been violently assaulted. All eyes turn to Ganka.

Moutari's electoral programme centres on revising family law, which leads to threats being made against his wife and daughter. His family is then kidnapped and taken to a community of nomads living far away in the midst of the desert.

Moutari successfully faces his challengers and has the accusations against him dropped, thanks to Aïcha. She pointed out a corruption scandal lead by Ganka, amongst others. The kidnapping of Moutari's family becomes more complicated due to the clashes between extremist groups and the nomadic community.
