The entire first season was filmed in Sydney, Australia. This was because unlike in the United States, the COVID-19 virus was contained well enough in Australia to film a show with a full normal audience. However, proper safety and health procedures were still taken. (Also, the audience was reportedly made up of American expats to make the show look more American.)
Jane Krakowski always did a hair flip to the camera before saying "Bid a Note".
Previous versions of the show allowed an answer from a contestant that was longer than the title of the song, so long as the title of the song was among what he or she said. On this version, though, the answer must be the exact title. Nothing more. Nothing less. However, if a song's title has part of the name in parenthesis, that part can be included or omitted.
Unlike previous versions of the show, this edition had a band made up with singers as well. A similar game show, "Face the Music", which ran from 1980-81, had a singer who would occasionally sing one of the songs, but unlike that show, if the Name That Tune band sang any part of the song with the song title in it, they intentionally left it out.
This is the fourth version of the show franchise started in the 1950s.
