This Egyptian film seem a family move into 'Gharibs' Castle'. It is, as the name suggests, a large home; the building may be old but it has modern amenities including a swimming pool. At first it looks as if they will be happy there but there early signs that all will not be as it seems. The couple employed to maintain and clean the property insist they will leave before sunset and strange things start to happen, including the father acting increasingly out of character.
I was rather surprised to see that this film had got such a low score here on the IMDb. It might not be a great film but I thought it was solid enough. It doesn't have the gore or violence one might expect from a horror film but it has a good atmosphere that makes it an effective chiller. Tension rises nicely as it progresses. The effects aren't great but that didn't bother me too much as it isn't exactly effects heavy. The cast is solid making the characters believable even as things turn strange. Overall not one for gore fans but worth watching if you like an effective chiller.
