It's commendable for Riri Riza for wanting to try new things in PARANOIA. The plot's set-up was built quite well. Unfortunately, then it went flat and enclosed with a half-baked climax.
As a thriller, the film suffers from a lack of solid momentum and intensity, despite the dedication of the cast who tried to give their best performance even though they were provided with paper-thin material.

Riri Riza's 'Paranoia' a half-baked thriller that fails to thrill or engage. None of the story's aspects - domestic violence, pandemics, or a variety of puzzles - are ever completely explored, and Riza's directing frequently falls flat. Nirina Zubir and Lukman Sardi's sleek performances provide some exciting moments, while Nicolas Saputra also offers a solid acting performance for a character whose characterization is too restricted.
