It turns out Guy knew little about his beloved wife Melissa, their friends are all quick to point out that Melissa was keeping secrets from him.
This was a cracking follow up episode, is Guy lying to the Inspector, and if so, why? What possible motive would Doctor Swanley have for lying about Guy's visit, was it a double or is Guy lying? Durbridge always managed to spin a tangled web, in which his central character is slap bang in the middle of.
You start to question if Guy has indeed out of his mind, or if he's lying to keep a secret, the plot is so wonderfully clever. It looks great, over fifty years old and it still boasts nice production values, the acting is sharp once again, Brian Wilde in particular.
You have to question everything, 8/10.
