This is a strong suspense thriller building on each episode with solid pacing, sometimes Netflix seem to need filer episodes to get to ten . Not for the first time a strong offering at seven where every episode progressed the plot with well time twists and turns that keeps you ready for the next episode. Kevin Hart Wesley Snipes lead a number great supporting performances very enjoyable journey.

All I can say wow! Hart, Snipes me blew completely away along with the rest of the cast. Simply one of the best series I've seen this whole year. Wesley is a given but I always knew Hart could play these roles and I'm so glad he was finally given a script to show off the skills I knew he had to play a serious actor. Looking forward to seeing him in more roles like this. A definite highly recommend. Again....wow!

Not the biggest fan of Kevin Hart's acting, but I was actually impressed with this. Great storyline, and of course the OG- Wesley Snipes delivered! Glad I watched!

Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes are fabulous! They have an excellent chemistry. Billy Zane is terrific in a small but pivotal supporting role! I was HOOKED watching this from beginning to end. This show is intriguing, filled with twists and turns. Kevin Hart is playing a serious role here and just nails it! Binge watching will be how most watch this I bet!

So, what makes this Netflix title stand out? Excellent cast, good script, and some plot surprises. There are moments of dark comedy, along with a moderate number of violent scenes, so beware, if you are sensitive.
So good to see Snipes on screen, and Kevin Hart really shines in this role... would love to see him in more dramatic projects. Aside from these two veterans, Theo Rossi was riveting in his role as "Gene".
Also like the format of this limited series: the first episode clocks in at about an hour, and rest are about 30 - 35 min. I just wish more series were like this.

I'm so glad to see him being taken seriously again after that tax mess up. More Wesley snipes please! Bring back Blade!
Thanks to Kevin for not giving up on him! Eddie Murphy and snipes in a leathal weapon type film with retired cops should be next up. Get on it Netflix!

Yes, indeed, Kevin Hart is good here. He doesn't play it too serious like some comic actors or comedians turned actors who then throw away ALL their humor or sense of irony for a dramatic role...
Snipes is also good, no surprise there, but what's also no surprise is the twist of twists that anyone can see coming from the first episode, but...
No matter... this is a time-filler, slowburn-style thriller, not an action-packed crime series, and pretty hypnotic, for the most part...
Like any binge series... despite it KNOWING it's a binge series and playing all the games therein... TRUE STORY knows how to keep the viewer hooked. (NOTE: This is the second time Billy Zane jump-started one of these kinda things... Amazon's MAD DOGS was first, and his character fills the exact same purpose.)

I know it's early days, but only 6.6?! C'mon, the series deserves well better than that. Really enjoyed it. Kevin Hart was brilliant with the rest of the cast also strong. Definitely worth a watch!

So many revelations in this - and I am not even talking about story or twist developments. I mean the actors that turn up in this. Yes Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes are the ones that get the biggest spotlight and highlight - but you have so many great people in this. Seeing Billy Zane having as much fun as he can have with the character he portrays is just amazing. Reminds you of how of an actor he is. And the charisma he is still able to produce and the screen presence that really sucks you in.
But while I could go on and on about him - there is also Theo Rossi. And Chris Diamantopoulos and so forth and so forth. So you can guess I am a fan. Of the actors but also the performances and the characters they put on screen. Then there is the story and the twists. Now I would say that one big twist (that is revealed fully at the end of episode 6) is one that many might guess. Sooner or later - I can say it was sooner for me. Nevertheless, the show has so many other twists and turns, that it doesn't matter if you or when you figure that one out.
There are some inside jokes in this too - be it about multiverses (or cinematic unvierses) or about political correctness and how it is used. There also is a lot to be said about the connection of stars/celebrities and their fans. Not always an easy connection - not always a fruitful relationship.
Yes famous people are just that - people and humans too. Kevin Harts character makes the point verbally too, in case you missed all the other hints before that. There is so much goodness and a bit of violence at times (a lot of swearing too, with one scene of sexuality if you can call it that) - but it really is rather kept at a minumum. With big spikes when necessary. I only mention if for those who rather don't want to be surprised and offended by such scenes and vivid imagery.
But if you can stomach it, the movie is more than rewarding as I already pointed out - great writing, acting and directing.

I am on the second episode, and it is very very good. And I am just really impressed with Kevin Hart's acting. I was not expecting him to be so convincing. I am enjoying the shop.

Im not a fan of Kevin Harts new comedy specials so i went into this series with low hopes. The whole series was shot well with a good performance from Kevin Hart. With that being said, the writers were absolutely fantastic. Good Job, would definitely recommend.
When I saw a commercial for 'True Story' featuring Wesley Snipes and Kevin Hart, it caught my attention. Watching the first episode kept my attention throughout the entirety of this series. However, I wished Netflix will do more movies oppose to 6 or 8 episode series. I was surprised at Kevin Hart's acting and I wasn't surprised by Wesley Snipes acting skill. Looking at at 59 year old Wesley, I see he's aged as we all do. However, when looking at Wesley Snipes, I still picture him as the character, Noxeema Jackson from the movie, 'To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar'. LOL.

Watched it all at once and the problem is that you know the twist from the very first episode. Would been a lot better if it was a movie, because there is no good characters besides trio in first episode. Still not bad though, could recomend if have nothing to watch.
I'll give credit where credit is due. This is an unexpectedly good watch, with strong performances. My husband doesn't necessarily prefer Kevin Hart, and relented only when I said Snipes is in it. By the 2nd one, he was really enjoying it and said he was surprised (pleasantly) by Hart.

I saw this great series on Netflix and after watching it, I find some real Kevin Heart's life events hidden through symbolism.
Brother (played by Snipes) = Real life "friend" who exorted him Shooting = End of something (can't be more specific, because I would write spoiler) Phonecall where he says "I love you" to someone and that someone says it back = actual feelings of something that had to end.
And so on...
Well made series, interesting and Kevin Heart shows he is not just a funny guy, but an actual actor who can give much more to a movie industry, besides great comedy.

What a happy surprise this series is. Great to see Wesley Snipes back in action and wow -Kevin Hart. Excellent performance. Everyone all around was fantastic. Good to see Billy Zane as well. Bravo! PS I'm on episode five and Gene better not get hurt!
The suspense was great, and it kept me wanting to finish the series. I didn't like how self centered it seemed to be at times "a comedian saved my life", or the product placement I'm the show.
The acting was spectacular and made the story believable.
I think it could've been cut to 2-3 episodes or a movie instead of 7 episodes, but maybe that's a Netflix problem.

I'm not actually a Kevin Hart fan. I find him too OTT in his movies and not entirely funny. However it was both refreshing and surprising to see him act in a more dramatic role. I believed him. I really enjoyed this mini series. All supporting cast were perfect. Not quite sure what the moral of the story was. I don't think there were any. But a good watch nonetheless. I also wish they casted darker skinned black women in this.

Started and stopped the first episode after I thought I have it figured out. Returned the next day, and POW, I was left pleasantly surprised!
Kevin Hart knocked it out of the park! I truly love this man as a serious actor and comedian. If he could only sing he would be a triple threat!
I won't give any spoilers away. Watch it.
