During the production of the film Brothers, Anthony Lietz was coaching a pee-wee AAA hockey team out of Detroit, MI and younger Noah Beckett played by Jack Slotka was also one of the players on Lietz's team that season.
Older Noah in the film was played by Christopher Putlock. While Christopher also starred in his debut role as an actor he also was Director of Photography which in a few scenes caused conflict in the role he was playing. Writer and Director Anthony Lietz doubled for him in the last scene playing hockey on the pond. Jack Smith doubled for him playing hockey inside of the ice rink scene.
The hockey rink scenes were shot at two ice arenas in Metro-Detroit. These two arenas are quite significant in history for housing the USA NTDP U-17/U-18 Teams throughout their history. These two arenas are USA Hockey Arena and The Ice Cube, the fictional towns, teams, and leagues in this film are based in Canada.
