Exclusive: Actress Jordana Brewster has signed with Anonymous Content for representation

Brewster is an original cast member of the Fast & Furious franchise at Universal, which is the studio’s biggest of all time at a cumulative gross exceeding $7 billion. Most recently, she’s been seen reprising her role as Mia Toretto, sister of Dom (Vin Diesel), in Fast X, which debuted in May 2023. Fast X: Part 2 is set to release in 2026.

Up next, Brewster will be seen in Sony’s romance-themed horror pic Heart Eyes, which releases February 7.

The Hulu half-hour comedy series Chad Powers has added Clayne Crawford (The Finestkind), Xavier Mills (Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire), Colton Ryan (Poker Face) and Toby Huss (Fatal Attraction) to its recurring cast.

They join previously announced series regulars Glen Powell as Russ Holliday/Chad Powers, Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny and Steve Zahn as Jake Hudson.

In the series, when bad behavior nukes hotshot Qb Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.

Chad Powers is based on an Eli Manning sketch that aired on ESPN+. Exclusive: Jordana Brewster and Devon Sawa are boarding Spyglass’ original horror rom-com, Heart Eyes, which is currently in production in New Zealand.

They join previously announced Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding.

The Josh Ruben-directed, Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon, and Michael Kennedy-written feature follows a pair of co-workers in Seattle who are pulling overtime on Valentine’s Day. When the Heart Eyes Killer strikes, they’re mistaken for a couple by the elusive couple-hunting killer. The duo are forced to spend the most romantic night of the year running for their lives.

Republic Pictures picked up distribution rights to Heart Eyes excluding the U.S. and Canada.

Landon and Divide/Conquer’s Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks are producing. Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Chris Stone are EPs with Murphy and Mel Turner.

The cast also includes Gigi Zumbado. Zumbado’s previous credits include Kenya Barris’ multi-cam comedy Unrelated and recurring roles on ABC’s Promised Land and Fox’s 9-1-1. Zumbado stars opposite Emile Hirsch and Stephen Dorff in the indie feature The Price We Pay.

Tribeca Festival, the event that wants to offer something for everyone, returns Wednesday with its sprawling collection of features and shorts, live music, TV, podcasts, games, and Ar/VR. The annual New York City-set fest has moved mostly back indoors this year, but will feature nods to 2021 like free outdoor screenings and an online edition, Tribeca At Home. A rich documentary slate tackles abortion, press freedom and the rise of social media. There’s a first-time award for environmental impact and a series of talks with Blackhouse Foundation centered on Poc storytelling.

“We’re an activist festival,” said Jane Rosenthal, co-founder with Robert De Niro and CEO of Tribeca Enterprises. “When you think back to how we founded the festival, we’ve always been political,” she added, a nod to the duo launching Tribeca after the September 11 terrorist attacks to buck up a physically and emotionally devastated neighborhood.

Exclusive: Visit Films has boarded writer-director Robert Machoian’s The Integrity Of Joseph Chambers and will be shopping the project to buyers in Cannes next week.

The film is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June but buyers on the Croisette will be given a “sneak peek” of the title, according to Visit Films.

The project is a tense and brooding drama starring Clayne Crawford as an insurance salesman and family man Joseph Chambers. Wanting to acquire the skills to be able to take care of his family in case of an apocalypse, Joseph decides to go deer hunting by himself for the first time ever, despite his wife’s objections. Setting out into the mountains with a borrowed rifle, he roams the woods aimlessly in search for deer. His boredom is short-lived, however, when in the blink of an eye he goes through a traumatic experience.

Aaron Stanford, Scotty Tovar, Tim Daly, Lolita Davidovich and Clayne Crawford have joined the cast of “Finestkind.”

As previously announced, the crime thriller also stars Oscar-winner Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Foster, Toby Wallace and Jenna Ortega. It is written and directed by Brian Helgeland, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of “L.A. Confidential” and “Mystic River,” as well as the director of “A Knight’s Tale.” “Finestkind” is set to debut exclusively on Paramount+ in late 2022.

The film unfolds in New Bedford, Mass., America’s biggest commercial fishing port, and tells the story of two brothers (Foster and Wallace) from opposite sides of the tracks, who are reunited as adults over one fateful summer. When desperate circumstances force them to strike a deal with a dangerous Boston crime syndicate, a young woman (Ortega) finds herself caught in the middle. This tests the bonds between brothers, friends, and a father (Jones) and his son.

The 2022 Tribeca Festival today announced its lineup of feature and short narrative, documentary, and animated films. This year’s festival runs June 8–19 and will open, as previously announced, with the Jennifer Lopez documentary “Halftime.”

The features program spans 10 categories and showcases 110 feature films and 16 online premieres from 151 filmmakers across 40 countries. The lineup includes 88 world premieres, two international premieres, seven North American premieres, two U.S. premieres, and 11 New York premieres. There are 32 directors returning to Tribeca with their latest projects, and 50 first-time directors. More than 64 percent (81) of the feature films are directed by female, Bipoc, and LGBTQ+ filmmakers: 46 percent (58) female directors, 34percent (43) Bipoc directors, and 8 percent (10) LGBTQ+ directors.

The 2022 Tribeca Festival will feature world premieres of Ray Romano’s directorial debut “Somewhere in Queens” and “Corner Office,” a workplace satire starring Jon Hamm and Danny Pudi, among many others.

Tribeca announced on Tuesday its full lineup of features and shorts, including documentaries and animated films. In all, 110 feature films will play at the festival from 151 filmmakers across 40 countries, with 88 being world premieres.

Romano also stars in his film “Somewhere in Queens” alongside Laurie Metcalf, Tony Lo Bianco, Sebastian Maniscalco and Jennifer Esposito. The film is about an Italian-American dad from Queens who gets increasingly involved in ensuring his son’s high school basketball success. “Corner Office” is directed by Joachim Back and stars Hamm as a straight-laced employee who retreats to a blissfully empty corner office to get away from his lackluster colleagues, only to find that his move upsets them immensely.

Anton Chekhov operated under an overarching philosophy when it came to structuring his novels and plays.

“If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off,” the Russian writer famously stated.

Well, the characters in “The Killing of Two Lovers” may not be all that familiar with Chekhovian theories, but the film itself always threatens to obey similar dramatic principles. David, the handyman and laborer played at a slow burn by Clayne Crawford, carries a loaded pistol throughout the film, and the viewers’ knowledge that the weapon could go off at any time injects the movie with an almost unbearable tension.

“The gun is a symbol of toxic masculinity,” says Robert Machoian, the film’s writer and director. “There’s never an appropriate time for that thing to ever get pulled out or used.
