Featured review
The state of South Dakota went all out for this film that they show at Custer State Park. Why do I say that? Because they were able to secure the talents of Kevin Costner to do the narration...likely due to his making the Badlands and Custer area famous with his movie "Dances with Wolves". It also helps that the park uses a huge screen for an almost IMAX sort of viewing experience.
The film is about the park...no surprise there. It shows many of the local animals, such as bison ('tatanka' is apparently a native word for them), Praire Dogs and more. It also shows the many geographical aspects of the park and the things that make it fun.
Apart from one tiny part with a family that seems pretty fake, the film is really lovely. Great music, cinematography and more. The only problem is that they only show it at this Visitor's Center...though if you want, you can pick up a DVD version if you go to the park in case you adore the film and want to show it to others.
