It was good, but didn't blow me away!

Best part of this episode was to see Ewan back as Kenobi! I guess my childhood brain got activated! Also great to have John back as the composer! Other than that it was an okay first episode, with some ups and downs! I dont like Reva and i fear the show will focus to much on her and the other inquisitors, sidelinning Kenobi in his own show... but i hope i am wrong! Casually optimistic from here.

    Extremely Mediocre Start

Disney's sole intent with these Disney+ shows (Star Wars and MCU) is to take all the soul from the movies and stuff it down the drain. Some of the acting in this episode is straight up awful, mainly because the writing and production is so "on-nose" that it's impossible to deliver in a way that doesn't sound cheesy. The plot is spoon fed so carefully that it made me forget that we have a national shortage of baby formula. The tone is bland and the Star Wars novelty just doesn't work like it used to. There's just no nuance here. Nothing memorable, just another piece of Disney content. This isn't art, this is a product.

Still, most people will probably like it, as this is yet another example of Disney only making shows for the broadest of audiences. It's not like episode this is awful, it's just boring and very telling for how the series is gonna play out.

It's Star Wars content so I'll watch the whole series, but it's just gonna be another lukewarm viewing experience. Not good not bad.

Great set-up for what's to come

Not the greatest episode but a great set-up for what's to come. The pilot has great world-building, great action and decent acting. It is however great to see old faces again and I believe there are great scenes coming.

There is one unnecessary and unrealistic scene that should have been cut. There is no way that a kid could outrun three full-grown men. This scene is taken straight out of a kid's movie which might be the point, but most people will wish they cut that part. Even though it's a silly scene it keeps the story moving.

That Star Wars feel but worrying bits

The intro, score and world we're shown is near perfect, as is Ewen's Kenobi. I generally enjoyed the Alderaan scenes and our new Leia. I didn't enjoy the portrayal of the Inquisitors, individually or in general and especially Reva, which is concerning as it's half their show. And that forest chase wasn't just bad, it was painful enough you worry about everything after it.

I really enjoyed it, but I'm left more hoping than excited.

    Funniest chase scene ever

It is hilarious how bad it is. Also the show itself is kinda bad and ruins a lot of background in the universe. Acting is okay cgi is pretty bellow average. Could be improved but it still has some pretty things baked into it and makes me think that they didn't think this plot through very much and how it places into the rest of the universe.

Owen Lars: I want you to stay away from him. We don't need anything from you, Ben.

      Obi-Wan Kenobi: It's just a toy.

Owen Lars: It's a lot more than that.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: There's more to life than your farm, Owen. He needs to see that. There's a whole galaxy out there.

Owen Lars: I'm asking you to leave us alone, Ben. I mean it.

      Obi-Wan Kenobi: Is he okay?

Owen Lars: You don't care if he's okay. You care if he's showing.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: He's my responsibility, Owen.

      Owen Lars: I'm his uncle.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: We talked about this. When the time comes, he must be trained.

Owen Lars: Like you trained his father? Anakin is dead, Ben, and I won't let you make the same mistake twice. So, leave him on the farm with his family, where he belongs.
