Solid Start but not without its downfalls

It's great to see Ewan step right back into the roll of Obi-Wan along with some other returning cast members but the episode has a few scenes where the script/acting performances do not match up to the level expected from the tone of the show thus far. Eager to see where it goes from here nevertheless.

    The damned Chase scene

Good start for this series but the chase scene, oh my god what a mega-fail it made me wonder if the people involved are not under influence. It's really a shame for the whole Star Wars universe.

Would have been 9 if not for that forest chase

Ewan is great. Everything looks great. Nice story setup and then...an infantile chase scene worthy of the finest Teletubbie episode. At least it was only 30 seconds or so.

I don't like Flea or that over the top Reva-character either but I sure hope they won't include anymore kindergarten stuff.

    Pretty meh

Nothing really happened. And the chase scene with leia was pretty cringe. The "bad guys" don't seem too menacing at all. World was set up decently well and visually looked good.

Great set-up for what's to come

Not the greatest episode but a great set-up for what's to come. The pilot has great world-building, great action and decent acting. It is however great to see old faces again and I believe there are great scenes coming.

There is one unnecessary and unrealistic scene that should have been cut. There is no way that a kid could outrun three full-grown men. This scene is taken straight out of a kid's movie which might be the point, but most people will wish they cut that part. Even though it's a silly scene it keeps the story moving.

Bail Organa mentions to Leia that he wanted to chase purrgil when he was her age. Purrgil are giant whale-like space creatures capable of hyperspace travel and they have an important role in Star Wars: Rebels (2014), while also being mentioned in On the Wings of Keeradaks (2020).

Owen Lars: I want you to stay away from him. We don't need anything from you, Ben.

      Obi-Wan Kenobi: It's just a toy.

Owen Lars: It's a lot more than that.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: There's more to life than your farm, Owen. He needs to see that. There's a whole galaxy out there.

Owen Lars: I'm asking you to leave us alone, Ben. I mean it.

      Obi-Wan Kenobi: Is he okay?

Owen Lars: You don't care if he's okay. You care if he's showing.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: He's my responsibility, Owen.

      Owen Lars: I'm his uncle.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: We talked about this. When the time comes, he must be trained.

Owen Lars: Like you trained his father? Anakin is dead, Ben, and I won't let you make the same mistake twice. So, leave him on the farm with his family, where he belongs.
