The 1st season of "Corpse Princess" has surprising depth even in the first few episodes, addressing the "Abyss" issue and how those who fight monsters are themselves monsters of a sort.
The 2nd season loses its way, with some episodes that serve no real purpose, regains the path near the end and then has no resolution..
Pros:
- Excellent animation for the era.
- 1st seasons story has good depth.
- 2nd season "Fan Service" gets a bit much, but was handled well in the 1st season.
Cons:
- Some inconsistencies with the animation.
- 2nd season introduces some silly "Fan Service".
- Becomes a "monster of the week" in the 2nd season for a bit.
