Apples Never Fall on Peacock brings Liane Moriarty's family drama to life with a star-studded cast and captivating storytelling. Sam Neill shines as patriarch Stan Delaney, portraying a complex character with depth and vulnerability in the series. Annette Bening stars opposite of Neill, and the rest of the cast brings the Delaneys to the small screen with an impressive amount of talent.
Apples Never Fall is the latest TV adaptation of Liane Moriarty's best-selling novels, and the Peacock series has an all-star cast bringing the book's story to life. Like the novel it's based on, Apples Never Fall follows the tennis-loving Delaney family in two timelines: before and after their mother vanishes. Joy Delaney's sudden disappearance dredges up the secrets and trauma within the seemingly perfect family, forcing the Delaney siblings to question everything they believe about their own parents.

Networks tend to be frustratingly unimaginative in their never-ending quest to find the next big thing on television. When "Lost" became a cultural phenomenon in the mid-aughts, it didn't inspire a wave of equally ambitious, thematically dense, and risk-taking TV shows. Instead, it led to a whole lot of copycat puzzle box series being green-lit, most of which only seemed to have a surface-level understanding of what made that show tick and failed to catch on.
So, as might be expected, when "The X-Files" ended its original run on Fox in 2002, the network went searching for a similar series to replace it. Three years later, it found one in Hart Hanson's "Bones," an investigative crime dramedy that was also about two co-workers in the shape of an emotionally closed-off woman and a man who wears his heart on his sleeve. Citadel, the hotly anticipated new series from Avengers: Endgame directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo, has had its official trailer release delayed. The Russos are executive producing the spy series, which is set to premiere with its first two episodes on Prime Video on April 28. The series was created by Josh Appelbaum & Bryan Oh, who previously collaborated on Happy Town, October Road, Life on Mars, and the James Patterson adaptation Zoo.
On Wednesday, the planned release of the Citadel trailer was delayed. Per Deadline, the reason for this was the deadly train collision in Greece that led to 36 deaths and many more injuries. The teaser, which features a prominent sequence set on a train, was delayed in solidarity with those mourning the loss of loved ones. Read Prime Video's statement to the press below:

A record 5,100 short films were submitted to the Cairo Film Festival’s short film competition this year, thanks to a new collaboration with FilmFreeWay. Around 1,200 shorts are sent in more usually for the region’s only A-list festival. The section comes with the added bonus of the winning film being submitted to the Oscars’ long list.
“We expanded the team to nine people, including volunteers, so we could properly assess each one,” Marouan Omara, the director of the Short Film Competition, tells Variety.
More than 3,800 shorts were submitted via the FilmFreeWay platform alone.
This year, 22 films are vying for the Youssef Chahine Award for Best Short Film, which comes with a $5,000 prize, sponsored by Clacket Media.
Ten of the films are by women directors. Five come from Egypt. Five from the Arab/Africa region. There are 12 international films.
“The selected films are diverse and show underrepresented communities and countries,” says Omara.

It’s been about a decade since the last episode of Angel, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off series about the vampire with a soul, aired. The final episode of season five, Not Fade Away, first appeared on Us television screens on 19 May 2004. That seems simultaneously like a very long time ago, and not very long ago at all, because time is vast and human brains are small and fallible, but it’s safe to say that in TV years, it’s a pretty long goddamned time.

Browse our picks and share your own: Which TV couples need to split for good?
Like the Britney Spears song of the same name, some TV couples are just toxic. You know the ones I’m talking about; the couples fans shamelessly root for, ignoring how poorly the characters treat each other, and how damaging they are for one another. HollywoodLife.com made a list of nine such couples from shows like Scandal, Glee and The Vampire Diaries – so come on, let’s get judgmental!
9 Most Toxic TV Couples
1. Olivia & Fitz, Scandal: What’s there to say about President Fitzgerald Grant and his First Mistress that we haven’t already said? He’s married. Her father is the head of B613. Jake is a viable alternative. I know Liv’s life is stressful, and sometimes stress can make you do crazy things, but she’s better than this. She deserves better than this.

We’ve been reporting on Universal’s Dracula movie for several months now, but it has been a confusing ride with all the title switching. The film, which is to follow the descent of Prince Vlad into Count Dracula, was originally titled Dracula: Year Zero, then it was titled just Dracula, and now it’s to be called Dracula Untold.
This according to Deadline, and it’s also been pushed from the previously reported August 8, 2014 to a much more fitting spooky fall release of October 3, 2014.
Luke Evans (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug) will be the lead with Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger), Sarah Gadon (Happy Town) , Charlie Cox (Stardust), and Samantha Barks (Les Misérables) all set to co-star.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted on the latest for Dracula Untold staring Luke Evans, Dominic Cooper, Sarah Gadon, Charlie Cox, and Samantha Barks which is slated...

It always brings me great pleasure to see a interesting and well done horror series on network TV, unfortunately so many of them seem to be cancelled right off the bat and rarely have the opportunity to delve into the story’s core and truly prove themselves to be the remarkable series they have the potential of developing into. For fans of the new ABC series ’666 Park Avenue’ such as myself, bad news has surfaced. ABC has officially cancelled the series along with fellow new series ‘Last Resort’ (from Shawn Ryan, creator of ‘The Shield’)!
It’s always a sad day when a great new series get’s the axe, and i really felt ’666 Park Avenue’ was starting to develop into a truly unique and entertaining series. Unfortunately the cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering the shows mediocre ratings. It certainly is not the first time...

Horror on television is generally hit or miss.
For every successful Twilight Zone, Tales from the Dark Side, The Outer Limits, Supernatural, Friday The 13th: The Series, True Blood or The Walking Dead there’s a dreadful Harper’s Island, American Gothic, Happy Town, Brimstone, Fear Itself and The River to go along with it.
American Horror Story falls into the former category.
The series is smart, stylish, kinky, strange as hell, a wrinkle of retro and most importantly scary. Plus, having been shown late at night on FX, it pulls no punches with the sex, kink and harsh language. All of these traits make up what is one of the most unique shows going in all of television.

Just keep swimming, Ellen!
Screen Rant is reporting that Ellen DeGeneres will likely return as Dory in Pixar’s anticipated Finding Nemo sequel. The talk show host and comedienne is in negotiations to reprise her role from the 2003 film that, along with Toy Story, made Pixar a household name.
A lot of folks seem to be returning to the big, blue animated ocean for this sequel. For one, Andrew Stanton, who co-directed the original, is back in the director’s chair after the ill-fated John Carter. There’s also been speculation as to the nature of the script, which might very well take the Toy Story 2 route and bring back many of the original characters.
This means we should watch out for Albert Brooks et al to be attached. Then again, perhaps we’ll have a Dory-centric script, with the little blue tang fish striking out on her own.

Back when I had Cable.TV, there were lots of shows that I saw come and go before their time. Defying Gravity, Happy Town, and Alcatraz were just a few of the serialized dramas that seemed to get the axe before they ever even had time to develop and grow. I thought about this for a while, and then I thought about other successful serialized dramas. Then I thought about Lost.
Lost was really the one show that actually got me interested in the serialized drama in the first place because, for the most part, it demonstrated the ability to tell a long and sprawling story that was closely connected and rewarded scrutiny. There was really nothing like it at the time, and you have to remember that there really were no other shows out there that demanded the kind of multi-year commitment that Lost required. Lost broke new ground...

David Cronenberg certainly hasn't been lacking in things to do. The director has been in the midst of preparing/releasing back-to-back films: last year's underrated drama "A Dangerous Method" and the forthcoming "Cosmopolis," which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in a matter of weeks. And it looks like Cronenberg is ready to let someone else call the shots on set for the moment.
TVLine (via IndieWire) reports that the helmer will guest-star on SyFy's time-travel drama pilot "Rewind," which we didn't know existed and didn't care about until now, and which of course we now want to watch. Directed by "Lost" helmer and former Jack Ryan reboot director Jack Bender, the show will tell the tale of a bunch of military and scientist types who travel back in time so they can change the future and prevent a terrorist attack. The "A History of Violence" auteur may be widely celebrated for his work behind the camera, but that hasn't stopped him from also popping up in front of it on occasion. According to TV Line, David Cronenberg has been tapped to guest star in the two-hour pilot for Syfy’s time-travel drama "Rewind," along with "Lost" actor Jeff Fahey. Cronenberg, who'll be premiering hotly anticipated Don DeLillo adaptation "Cosmopolis" at Cannes this year, often ends up playing a medical professional of some sort when he acts -- he was neurologist Dr. Brezzel on two episodes of "Alias," vet Dr. Leichman on "Happy Town" and a government scientist in "Jason X." Keeping with that pattern, he'll play "a brilliant scientist and Nobel Prize winner who becomes unhinged after his wife’s death" and "comes up with a dangerous plot to change the course of history" in...

Fans of Bones are in for a riotous few episodes to finish out season seven. The season is short for the popular Fox series due to the real-life pregnancy of Brennan actress Emily Deschanel. There will be four bonus episodes coming our way and an eighth season to follow, however. Speaking of extra episodes, one of those will feature actor Jay Paulson as a surprise crush for Angela. That could mean some trouble in paradise.
Paulson, who you might recognize from Happy Town and October Road, will play an artist, and an unusual one at that. He’s Twerpski, an internationally beloved graffiti artist. He’ll be defacing a billboard, according to the TV Guide scoop, when he inadvertently will falls, only to wind up glued to a pile of human remains. Gross and uncomfortable all at once!

Paramount and director Michael Bay seem bound and determined to turn Bay’s next big picture, true-life tale Pain and Gain, into a real piece of work (read – not a film that gets its big gags from racist robots). First, Bay secured a story that’s seemingly ready-made for the cinematic treatment – a dark, funny, bizarre, and captivating story about loser bodybuilders in Miami who get mixed up violent crime (violent crime that, despite their bulk, they are truly not cut out for). Then, he filled out his cast with a mix of recognizable talent (Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson), spiced it up with some solid hitters (Ed Harris, Tony Shaloub, and Anthony Mackie), and then (for once in his directorial career), cast a model (Bar Paly) in a role suitable for a model. What next, Bay? According to THR, screenwriter Scott Rosenberg has been brought in “for polish and punch-up duties” on the film’s script...
