Comedy has been a popular genre for generations of film audiences seeking an escape from everyday troubles. Although these films often do well at the box office, the Academy is not always quick to reward lighter fare. However, there have been a few competitive acting wins over the past nine decades, and here we rank the 30 funniest of all time in the photo gallery above to wish you a Happy April Fools’ Day.

Out of these 30, there are five for Best Actor, including Jack Nicholson, who holds the record for male acting nominations, and 10 for Best Actress, including Barbra Streisand‘s win for her film debut in “Funny Girl,” which also resulted in a rare tie. What is the Eurovision Song Contest?

The Eurovision Song Contest is an international song competition organised every year by the European Broadcasting Union (Ebu). The contest is made up of various European countries that perform a song and compete for the public’s votes in each country as well as the points of the judges (more on that later).

The first edition of the contest was held in 1956 and was won by Switzerland with the song “Refrain” by Lys Assia. Since then, 69 songs from 27 countries have won the contest as of 2022. Ireland holds the record for most wins...

1. It has won the most above-the-line Oscars ever

We said this could happen, and it did. “Everything Everywhere” is the first movie to win six above-the-line Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh, Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan, Best Supporting Actress for Jamie Lee Curtis, and Best Original Screenplay for the Daniels. The previous record was five, held by the three films who’ve swept the Big Five, “It Happened One Night” (1934), “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” (1976) and “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991).
