This little film starts off very interesting with a meeting with well middle aged and depressed Roy (57), which is too bad in his back to work.
We see this right after a session where an English speaking lecturer talks about treading over people boundaries. So we know this won't be easy for Roy.
We're dragged into Roy's life. He has lost his motivations, doing nothing, and mostly at home. His wife is trying to find solutions, with no success, until she can't take it anymore. A Therapist overhear a conversation in a café, and he comes over to recommend a special treatment. And so it goes, his wife sends Roy away on an alternative treatment. Roy is not interested, but as his wife says, he's not interested in anything. So he goes along with it.
But this treatment is not what Roy is expecting...
Well, more should not be said. Johan Jonason's movie, also written by him, is well acted and well told. The film put you right into it, and you get interested.
The problem is that it does not use it's potential. By far. A good build-up is squandered, and I'd like more than i get, but I was invested during the movie, and that's not something I could say about every movie i watch.
