Performed by Susan Miller with Will Osborne and His Orchestra
Featured review
Susan Miller sings the title song in this soundie, while Will Osborne -- that;'s the clarinetist-- and his orchestra play the music.
Soundies were basically music videos from about 1940 through 1946. They were played on a gadget called a Mills Panaram. Drop in a dime and you got one three-minute film from a loop of ten. You could find Panarams in bars, night clubs, and similar places, usually urban, which explains why there are a lot of Black performers in them. While some were very well established, like Cab Callaway, you could also find future movie stars very early in their careers, like Doris Day and Ricardo Montalban.
