On Thursday (October 31), Sarah Jessica Parker took to Instagram to announce that filming for the upcoming third season of the Sex and the City spinoff series had officially wrapped.

Knowing the passion around the Frank Herbert novels and the Denis Villeneuve adaptations, HBO wanted to bring the fans in on the experience.

“I was talking to Sarah Aubrey, who’s the head of Max content, and we were like, ‘What could we do that would really give something to the fans that’s different than what we would do for a normal premiere?’ That was the inception of this,” Jen Weinberg, SVP of Talent Relations, Events & Awards for HBO and Max, told TheWrap. “This is a tentpole show for our company. We have a lot of resources going into it. We’ve all identified that we love [this show], and we want the world to love it as much as we do.

Mehcad Brooks will play an “award-winning editor” who falls for Nicole Ari Parker’s character on “And Just Like That,” the “Law & Order” star recently told TheWrap.

“It’s like ‘When Harry Met Sally?,’ a very quintessential, New York romcom,” he said, referencing Rob Reiner’s romantic 1989 classic. “I love this kind of thing. There’s a lot of really funny interactions and boundary crossing with designer clothes on.”

Brooks, who plays Detective Jalen Shaw on “Law & Order,” explained that even though Parker’s character, the memorably named Lisa Todd Wexley, and his are already married to other people, they find an “undeniable attraction” that leads to “an acrobatic sort of dance” as they get closer.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon wore bright colorful outfits as they filmed scenes for the new season of the Sex & the City spinoff series on Monday afternoon (October 21) in New York City.

Across town, Kristin Davis sported a chic black and white outfit as she picked up a coffee as she filmed a solo scene while Mario Cantone and Sebastiano Pigazzi were seen in their Hot Fellas uniforms as they filmed scenes outside of their bakery.

The actor and husband of Sarah Jessica Parker, who starred in the HBO series, stopped by James Corden’s This Life of Mine show on SiriusXM. During his conversation with the former late night host, the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off star was asked if it was true he was asked to be in the romance drama multiple times and opted not to.

“Whenever there was a part that I could do, I couldn’t do it is really all that happened,” he explained. “But also sometimes, it was like, ‘Do you want to do two days as the premature ejaculator?’ And I’d be like, ‘You know, I don’t know. It’s just kind of embarrassing.’”

While it would’ve seemed likely that Parker approached him about guest starring in her show, that was never the case.

Matthew Broderick revealed if he ever had an offer to appear alongside his wife Sarah Jessica Parker on Sex and the City.

The beloved series debuted in 1998, a year after the Hollywood couple tied the knot. It spawned two blockbuster movies and spinoff series And Just Like That, which is still going strong in 2024.

John Corbett reunited with Sarah Jessica Parker to film scenes for the upcoming third season of the Sex & the City spinoff series on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 10) in New York City.

This is now the second time John has been spotted on set of And Just Like That for season 3. He and Sjp held hands as they filmed scenes together back in July.

Ooh la la! The Summer Olympics in Paris provided a great reason for Sarah Jessica Parker to reunite with one of her Sex and the City co-stars.

Jennifer Hudson, who played Carrie’s assistant Louise in the 2008 Sex and the City movie, posted a photo of her and Parker posing in front of the Eiffel Tower, adding the caption: “Look who I ran into in Paris !! Carrie and Louise reunited at last! Love is the thing, you know!” (Fans will remember that Paris was also the site of the Sex and the City series finale, where Big won back Carrie’s heart.

Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake and Logan Marshall-Green join the series in recurring guest roles, and Sebastiano Pigazzi and Dolly Wells are elevated to series regulars for the third season, now shooting in New York City.  

As another season of romantic entanglements is promised, the latest chapter of And Just Like That finds Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) with new and familiar friends as they navigate friendship, family and New York in their 50s. 

Along with Parker, Davis and Nixon, the season three cast features Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Niall Cunningham, Cathy Ang, Alexa Swinton and John Corbett.

“And Just Like That” has added Logan Marshall-Green, Mehcad Brooks and Jonathan Cake to its Season 3 cast as recurring guest stars.

Additionally, Season 2 recurring guest stars Sebastiano Pigazzi and Dolly Wells have been upped to series regulars.

Pigazzi plays Giuseppe, who dates Anthony (Mario Cantone), while Wells plays Joy, a colleague of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon). Character details for Marshall-Green, Brooks and Cake are not yet known.

Marshall-Green is best known for films including 2018’s “Upgrade” and 2017’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” On TV, he’s appeared in “When They See Us,” “The O.C.” and “Damnation,” most recently starring in “Big Sky.” He is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment, CAA and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.

Brooks has played detective Jalen Shaw in “Law & Order,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Law & Order: Organized Crime.” His other credits include “Mortal Kombat” and “Mortal Kombat 2” as well as “Desperate Housewives” and “Necessary Roughness.

Karen Pittman’s star is on the rise. She has appeared in The Morning Show for several seasons, but landing a role on the Sex and the City reboot made her even more well-known. Now, she’s landed the lead role in a new series. Her increasing popularity does come at a cost, though. While Pittman is excited to work on her new Netflix series, it meant she had to give up her part on And Just Like That… While Pittman won’t be back as a cast member for season 3 of the reboot, she is totally into the idea of returning at some point if the production team is interested. She thinks Nya’s story should continue.

Pittman told the Hollywood Reporter that she’s not against the idea of returning to And Just Like That if the opportunity presents itself.

Walking onto the two sets was always a “pinch-me moment” for Pittman, who, to borrow a well-worn expression, has arrived. After making her Broadway debut in Disgraced more than a decade ago, she landed guest roles on shows like Madame Secretary, The Good Wife and The Blacklist. Nixon, who plays Miranda on Max’s Sex and the City continuation, tells our sister site Variety that Ramírez’s exit was a mutual decision between Ramírez and showrunner Michael Patrick King. Ramírez “created such an amazing character — such a controversial character, but such an amazing character,” Nixon says, but “I think they felt, and Michael Patrick felt, that that character had run its course. They came in and shook everything up, and then the arc was completed.

In 1984, Cynthia Nixon made Broadway history by appearing in two productions at the same time. Newly graduated from New York’s Hunter College High School, Nixon was cast in two concurrent plays, “Hurlyburly” and “The Real Thing,” each led by legendary director Mike Nichols. Forty years later, the actor and activist’s career has come full circle. Rosie O’Donnell is joining the cast for season three of Max’s And Just Like That.

The comedian shared on her Instagram Wednesday the front cover of the script for the upcoming season’s premiere episode of the Sex and the City spinoff. The photo also reveals her character name is Mary, as well as the episode’s title, “Outlook Good,” which will be written and directed by executive producer Michael Patrick King.

O’Donnell signed on to the series starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who all reprised their Sex and the City roles. And Just Like That follows the group as they navigate the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s, compared to their journeys in their 30s on the original show.
