This movie is relevant to the present times and it conveys a very urgent message to mankind to not destroy the environment for his selfish needs.
The movie is set in India in Bangalore. The director Anurag Shetty has skillfully woven a sci-fi element into the fabric of the story.
The principal protagonist Prem is on the lookout for a date. He lives in a mansion with an invincible gate the news of which is aired on television. The earthquake and flash floods in the city of Bangalore draws all and sundry to his house for shelter foolproof that his bungalow is.
Prem wants to turn the situation to his advantage. Being single and socially awkward he is optimistic that the girl of his dreams will appear at his doorstep seeking refuge .
The different characters that show up at his house is a metaphor of life in this world which is a mix of disparate men and women.
The idea of Prem writing a journal setting out the pros and cons of being single is a novel concept. The hero pours out his hopes and fears onto the pages .
Anurag Shetty as Prem is convincing. Archana Nair as Ananya has done justice to her role. Isaac D'Souza as Jimmy is funny. A few dialogues of Yogesh and Pankaj could have been edited. Though Samanvita Shetty as Shruthi had a small role she did prove herself a seasoned actress.
The movie is hilarious in certain parts. The scenes of the stormy rainy weather outside have been beautifully caught on camera. The music is apt.
The star feature of the movie is the vocals rendered by Rakshitha Venkatesh as Payal. Both the lyrics and the singing are sensational.
Youngsters will throng to the theatres to see this movie. Sit back with a bucket of popcorn and one hour and more will simply zip by.
