- TriviaVideo Girl was born out of the urgency in Megan to document her local video store before it closed forever. Since she was employed there, she convinced her manager to let her and her friends film in the store outside of opening hours. Megan wrote this film while working long nights where fewer and fewer customers would come in. As a film student, sometimes these encounters (or lack thereof) would make her sad about the future of cinema. Her film school Swinburne provided them with the 16mm camera and they purchased the stock. Filming this decaying place on a fading medium felt serendipitous for them. The result is a deeply nostalgic and sometimes melancholic memory of the video store and a portrait of a starry-eyed artist in a tired small town, clutching onto hope through her daydreams.
