- Stephanie: [on her cellphone, trying to locate Ellie] So it's me, uhm, where are you? I'm at the cow place now.
- [looking around for her friend]
- Stephanie: Uhm, so call me. Bye.
- [starts pushing her bicycle, looking vaguely worried, as car approaches]
- Michael: [driver in car] Hey!
- Stephanie: Hi.
- Michael: Where's your friend?
- Stephanie: Coming.
- Michael: Yeah?
- Stephanie: Yeah.
- [continues pushing bicycle, looks back at him]
- Stephanie: Any minute now.
- [remembers]
- Stephanie: Oh, hey, thanks for your help last night with that guy. He was a real creep.
- Michael: Yeah, he was.
- Stephanie: You know what?
- [checks her cellphone for word from her missing friend]
- Stephanie: Probably got a flat or something. I'd better go, but see you around, uh...?
- Michael: Michael.
- Stephanie: [nods] Stephanie.
- [pushing her bicycle, about to leave]
- Michael: Hey, where are you going? I'll give you a lift.
- Stephanie: [looking back] No, I'm okay, thanks though.
- Cute Guy: [as Ellie heads out of the bar] Hey, where are you going?
- Ellie: [on her way to restroom] El peepee.
- Ellie: [enters men's toilet] Girl emergency! Sorry!
- [next door, Stephanie toys with her cellphone, which lies on top of ominous newspaper report of missing girl]
- Ellie: [uses toilet stall while Michael is at urinal] You're not from these parts, are you?
- [comes tauntingly over to.inspect him nonchalantly, playful tone:]
- Ellie: Performance anxiety?
- Michael: [zipping up, gruffly:] You should stick close to your friend.
- [walks out of restroom]
- Ellie: [wistfully to herself] Wow. That backfired.
- Ellie: [as the two bikini girls lie lazing in the sun] You really, *really* need to learn to have some fun.
- Stephanie: And, what, you're gonna teach me, I suppose?
- Ellie: Yeah, actually, I probably could.
- Stephanie: [sarcastic] Where would we start, huh? The men's bathroom? That sounds like fun.
- Ellie: Okay. No, that's great. I see where this is going.
- Stephanie: Forget it.
- Ellie: No.
- Stephanie: Forget it. No, you're right. If you didn't care before attacking him in the bathroom, you're certainly not gonna care now.
- Ellie: Okay, Steph, I'm sorry! If it's any consolation, he didn't take the bait.
- Stephanie: It's still really shitty, Ellie.
- [Ellie turns her head away]
- Stephanie: I guess you can't help it.
- Ellie: [offended] What? You know what? I probably actually should have done something, because, God knows, you never would have.
- Stephanie: What the hell is that supposed to mean?
- Ellie: You know what? Just... just forget about it.
- Stephanie: No, bullshit forget it. Say what you mean.
- Ellie: I mean, Steph, God forbid you take a chance on another guy, instead of dwelling on the same old one.
- Stephanie: He said we'd work it out, El.
- Ellie: Stephanie, he cheated on you. This is crazy to me that you're still defending him. You should have dumped that guy right on the spot. But - but you didn't. And now you're hurt,
- [shakes her head]
- Ellie: and I have to pick up your pieces of yet another disaster relationship.
- Stephanie: What? Is this coming from you, the expert? You think a relationship is when you get the guy's last name.
- Ellie: [hurt] Wow.
- [wipes her hair out of her eyes]
- Ellie: You know what? Screw you.
- Stephanie: Nice.
- [gets up, prepares to leave, then walks away in a huff]
- Ellie: Steph, wait!
