Yes, I watched only because of Vidut.
1. Kidnapping & hostages concept they copied from Money heist.
2. No role of police, they are baseless in movie.
3. Vidyut Jamwal's actions are awesome.
4. Story is predictable.
5. If you love Vidyut then watch else nothing to watch in this film.

Its an entire MMA based film. From Vidyut to all enemies, they all know MMA and its a treat to watch the action. Full marks there.
Story wise, it is quite similar to Die Hard with definite variations. Story has nothing to be talked about its only the action that is to be talked about throughout.
Yes, it has some weird moments like there is one sequence (I wont tell you which one but you can figure it out) which will instantly remind you of a sequence from ROBOT (2010) where Chitti, while fighting goons in a train runs out of battery and seems out of the battle but soon comes back after somehow managing to charge his batteries...watch out for a similar sequence in Sanak.
Performance - Hated Rukmini's presence in this film. Its an out an out Vidyut Jammwal film and it belongs to him for his splendid action scenes and performance. Police including Neha Dhupia has absolutely nothing to do. What will they do? Their work is done by Vidyut xD. Chandan Roy brings some good humor to the film. The bad guys have done a good job too with their MMA skills too.
Overall, a decent one time watch. Watch it only for the action (Just like Extraction --> 0 story, 100% action) and for Vidyut. Dont expect twists and turns in this linear storyline which was a disappointment for me cuz i am not a fan of all and all action films with a story that is one directionally moving. Bollywood should take inspiration from films like these and level up their action sequences.

Sanak in slang language means if he goes out of his mind but here it's fully in good mind
The story is simple but executed in a very good way..the humour is good and action is really mind blowing in a new way and with new props of hospital equipment's
Vidyut as usual has played well with his stunts and they are different also..the best thing in the movie is that it in one location of a hospital..Neha was seen after a long time and was ok..the new heroine will make her debut marked
Watch it with your kids of any age.

I don't know whenever I saw Vidyut Jamwal in romantic character of these type,,action are realistic as always and dialogue are worthy & powerful if you like action in Romantic movie then must watch.......😍😍😍
Must watch..vidyut's fighting skill was very nice.. Storyline and screenplay also good👍.. Rukmini maitra's first bollywood movie,, she is too nice in acting..
The film has an action and thrilling story that is a kind of Indian story that is based on a hero who makes the viewer support himself. In addition, the film has a good romantic drama that balances the film. The film is full of action and exciting scenes that nail the viewer to the film with a lot of conflicts and satisfy him.

Jackie Chan comes to India in this Indian version of Die Hard movie. The villain was small in stature, looked and sounded weak. Definitely a miscast. There were some good moments especially in the fight scenes, but scenes which requires some bonafide acting, Vidhyut as always is found wanting. You could see in the action department Vidhyut emulating Jackie Chan down to his frenzied expressions. The rest of the cast were just spectators on a roller coaster ride. If gymnastics and action is all you are looking for than this would be your movie. If you a bit more mature audience than you might find your interest waning as the movie progresses.

Vidyut Jammwal played role of Vivaan Ahuja exceptionally well. Those who are action lovers should watch this film. They tried to connect the movie emotionally. Chandra kumar Roy played the role of villain too well. Co-actors also tried their best. But the movie is too much predictable. We need better concept and a movie which has suspense till end time. Somewhere I find it lengthy. We except more from Vidyut Jammwal and Co-actors.

Such a waste of time. I don't understand why they have to copy action style and cannot come up with their own. The actress in Bollywood's action movies are as usual useless. Vidyut has so much potential in action but i felt a bit of jackie chan action of using anything to fight, conor mcgregor strut, Raid copy and all not in a good way. I'd be very skeptical before watching any of his new movies.

As most say, its an action movie. So if you not an action movie fan, you shouldnt be here.
Story has been done many time before.
That said, the actions scenes are very well done. Could've had a few more and he could've shown some more muscle.
Nothing else to complain about. Complete Vidyut show and everything else including the story is supporting. But still fun to watch.

It's a good Vidyut Jamwal film with great action sequences that will keep you engaged throughout the film, despite it being predictable. I would have given this film 10/10, but this film is not unique as we have seen many films with a similar concept earlier like die hard 1, Air Force one, Mall Cop and many more.
So overall, it is a definite one time watch for some good entertainment.

If you are a Vidyut Jammwal fan & want to have some good time with family this dussehra then go for SANAK... Vidyut Jammwal at his best & he's carrying the BIGGEST ACTION STAR OF INDIA tag with responsibility & pride. He proved yet again why he's the best in this genre.
Now coming to the story, well it's not a new concept & films like this r made in Hollywood every now & then,e.g-Die Hard, Skyscraper to name a few.
Direction is avg & screenplay could have been tighter.
Acting by Vidyut Jammwal is good & the best thing is he's improving with each film. Rukmini Maitra is ok. Chandan Roy Sanyal is menacing as the villain. I'm a big fan of Chandan Roy since the time of Panchayat & he's good with comic timings.
Songs are catchy & melodious.
Special mention to O yaara dil lagana by Chirantan Bhatt & Suna Hai by Jeet Ganguly.
Now coming to the main point,THE ACTION the best thing of the film. Action Choreography by Andy Long Stunt Team & our leading man performing those stunts are a treat to watch. The stuntmen have done a fine job performing the stunts head to head with the man himself.
So all & all SANAK is an out & out Vidyut Jammwal actioner & you'll definitely get what you exactly expect from an ACTION STAR like him. So go for it without thinking twice.

If this movie was tighter, at a length of 1h 30 mins, it would have been much better. The overall story is predictable, but I don't think anyone watches this for the story! But even then there are some scenes that just don't make sense, and even though the film is just 2h long, which is pretty good for Indian cinema, it does feel dragged out, especially in the second half. The hostage situation didn't have any tension whatsoever, which is kind of a shame.
Now the good part about the film: action! There are 5 fight scenes throughout the film, 3 of them are INCREDIBLE - it's honestly genius how they choreographed these. One more fight scenes is very good, but sadly the last one is underwhelming after everything you've seen till then, and also a bit annoying because the camera keeps switching to a non fighting character during the fight. The execution of all fights is fricking great - Vidyut (and others) make it look so realistic and un-choreographed with the way they take and deliver hits, it's honestly insane to me. I've watched the fight sequences 3 times now, and everytime I'm blown away.
4 out of the 5 sequences get over in the first 1h 10 mins of the movie! This is partly why the movie feels dragged out - in the remaining 45 mins there's just one fight sequence which is the last 5 mins! I really wish the movie was tighter.
Overall, it's a great watch if you're only looking for really cool fight scenes. If you're looking for a really good movie, this definitely is not one. But I guess most of the audience is anyway in the former category!
4/10 for the movie 10/10 for the action.

Good action for the standards of Bollywood..but as per the international standard it was pretty much meh. They say this is the remake of John Q..but I don't think so cos' this movie seems very much inspired from Die Hard or The Raid Redemption but is not even 10% of that film. It was too slow for a fast-paced action film.
Thin plot, cliché dialogues & the acting was atrocious (yes from Vidyut too..just because he's not a nepokid doesn't mean he is a good actor!) 3 stars for the good action.

Set in Mumbai, the story unfolds in a hospital that is under siege, where Vivaan Ahuja, an MMA Trainer (Vidyut Jammwal) and his wife Anshika (Rukmini Maitra) are trapped. The linear narrative of Kanishk Varma's Sanak is a battle between two opponents that make up the bulk of the proceedings--Vivaan Ahuja, the fit and muscled guy, and Saju (Chandan Roy Sanyal) with his band of skilled fighters who have taken all the people in the hospital as hostages.
This 1 Hr 57 Mins Action--Drama, written by Ashish P. Verma, begins slowly by emphasising the chemistry between the lead couple as they celebrate their third anniversary. But, minutes later, we're in a siege situation at the hospital, where Anshika is being held captive alongside other people, and Vivaan arrives to save her. The basic plotline is predictable from the word go: the hero will bash up the bad guys to a pulp and save them all.
Saurabh Bhalerao and Suyash Kelkar's background score is far impressive though. The USP of this film, like those of Vidyut Jammwal's previous works, is Action. With his power-packed action moves, he is a one-man army attempting to control the situation and save everyone. In comparison to the terrorists, Vidyut Jammwal has been given a lot of screen time to perform stunts, and he scores in every action scene. All credit goes to Andy Long Nguyen, the Action Director who is also a trained martial arts fighter; the viewers won't have time to blink throughout the combat sequences, especially the one in the physiotherapy room. The climactic battle, on the other hand, is too good and memorable.
Vidyut Jammwal's honesty towards his craft is what saves Sanak from its weak moments. Given that the setting is a hospital, the action director and team have used some genius stunts that involve an MRI machine, a Swiss ball in the physio room and other such innovative ideas. Thankfully the film doesn't have the song-and-dance routine and the focus does stay on the action when it finally kicks in. Vidyut fans get their fair share of action with the actor going all out to ensure he delivers with his signature moves.
The leading ladies, Rukmini Maitra as Anshika and Neha Dhupia as ACP Jayati Bhargav, have a limited role to play. They have, however, done so with finesse. Neha Dhupia made a grand entry as a tough cop interrogating a criminal, but, her character arc was sketchily written, and she ended up playing a role of a cop who is merely trying to deal with the situation.
In a negative role, Chandan Roy Sanyal has impressed with his performances in the past, and here too, he looks just as convincing as Saju. He is ruthless, frightening and maniacal without trying too hard. Additionally, he has got some good dialogues to deliver.
Overall, Vidyut Jammwal's slick kicks, punches and backflips raise the stakes of this action-packed drama. Of course, it's predictable, but if you're a die-hard Vidyut Jammwal fan or like action movies, this is the one for you.

The only thing which worked for this movie was Vidut's action scenes. Actress was horrible in her performance and her acting, her character was so cringe, melodramatic and dialogues were all so stupid making the love story is even more cliche, horrible.
The only thing which was ok to watch was action scenes which had all movies of Jackie Chan, Jet lee and many more referees being used ending with Mobi' music too.

Vidyut's actions are worth watching. He has been showing his powerful martial arts skills since Force. The villain tried to act like Professor but failed. Neha Dhupia was looking good but didn't get enough work to do as ACP.
This movie is a Must for Vidyut's fans. I would love if Yash Raj does the next Dhoom with Vidyut.

Gone are the days when Die Hard and Speed franchise of films used to create stir. Now-a-days if you do not make a water-tight action movie like John Wick or Nobody, people will loose interest half way in and on OTT, they would just move on.
Sanak is not that bad... but it lacked the x-factor. And it certainly missed the bull's eyes.
This was a Vidyut Jamwal movie and it is obvious from the trailer till the end of the film. The cast and crew did a decent job, nothing out of the ordinary really. I am told by those who know a thing or two about action that- both the stunt-master who coordinated the action scenes and the DOP who shot them are rare talent. The Director did his job well with a story which didn't really have anything substantial or new.
Also, the bad guys really lacked a motivation that can be said to be realist.
