I'm a huge fan of werewolf movies and if they have a low budget then I honestly don't mind how bad the effects are. The werewolf in this was actually ok but the film was so dark that you could barely see anything.
The story really let this down and it dragged until I couldn't care less what happened to any of the characters.
Not one to recommend I'm afraid and best avoided.
If you haven't seen it then Late Phases is a way better werewolf movies.

I'm not sure why all the hate on this one. Yes, it's clearly a B-Rate / C-Rate movie, the acting is not great by any means, and the lighting is pretty dim but for what it is, it's pretty good. They took care, on a very small budget mind you, with limited special effects and put their effort into making a decent werewolf costume and transformation. For a B-Rate, it's a pretty good attempt I'd say. I think for what it is, they did a really good job at working with what they had. Know what it is when you go into it. It's a B movie made for the love of werewolf movies! For those folks like me who hunt for werewolf movies, I thought this was one of the better B attempts out there as far as script, special effects, and choreography were concerned. Solid effort!

There are actually a few good actors in this film that were credible in their roles, but as a whole I wouldn't waste time on this.

Seriously, what a waste of time!? Lionsgate used to be a sign of quality. This is so sad that its making low budget cheap movies. Though there are some good actors, the productions is so bad.
It was decent movie. I definitely seen a lot worse. The story was pretty good but you really don't find out till the end.
The werewolf was fairly decent as far as makeup again there are much worse portrayals of werewolves in some of the movies out there.

Well, granted, this 2021 horror movie's cover/poster was actually interesting enough to make me sit down and watch it. And yeah, I was somewhat hesitant, or even skeptical, about watching it, given the fact that the movie had the word "Amityville" in its title. It isn't exactly like movies with that name in the title are known for their great entertainment value.
But still, the movie should be given a fair chance, so I sat down and watched it. And as I had anticipated, then writer and director Thomas J. Churchill just didn't manage to deliver a wholesome movie here. So the curse of the "Amityville" titled movies continues on.
Was "The Amityville Moon" watchable? Sure, but it wasn't a particularly grand or memorable foray into the horror genre. And for this being a werewolf movie, then it was a very weak attempt at a jab at the werewolf sub-genre of horror. At least if there had been more scenes with the actual werewolf, then perhaps "The Amityville Moon" would have been more enjoyable.
The pacing of "The Amityville Moon" was slow and tedious, without much of anything interesting actually happening. So it was a rather dull and monotonous movie experience. And I have to admit that I ended up giving up on finishing the movie without about 20 minutes left, give or take. Yup, the ordeal was that tedious.
The acting in the movie was adequate. You will not be in for any great or memorable acting performances here, nor will you be in for a grand cast ensemble. But in all fairness, then the actors and actresses did an okay job with the limited material they had to work with.
My rating of "The Amityville Moon" lands on a mere three out of ten stars.

The Amityville Moon has little to do with the Amityville series except for possibly taking place in that town though we don't see the house or anything nor are there any cursed/haunted objects from it. It's about a halfway house for ex-drug addict junkies with a werewolf stalking and killing them. Much of the film is about these former needle-freaks and seeing as I don't understand addiction nor do I have any empathy these parts fell flat on me. Some nudity or lesbian shenanigans would have livened the movie up. Apparently this is made by some religious nut who is okay with mild swearing but has his tough biker guys say "freakin" and "screw". The acting is intensely mediocre especially that of the main girl. The whole film is shot in a drab and colorless way. There's some bloody werewolf attacks including a woman who has her face clawed off. The werewolf transformation scene is pretty good though nowhere near Baker/Bottin level but at least it was all practical FX. The werewolf suit is pretty good as well though shown sparingly. The sadly too brief werewolf scenes save this from being completely dull. Another very mediocre Walmart horror to add to the pile.

Watching this prompted me to recall a recent small domestic moment. We returned from shopping, and I tried one of the delicious looking plums we'd just bought. I was forced to spit it out. The plum, despite looking OK, was rotten to the core. Amityville Moon looks OK right up until you press play, and then, well, it's unfortunately rotten to the core.
How the producers got access to the Amityville name and implied membership to the franchise is beyond me. It certainly wasn't as a consequence of money being splashed around. This movie obviously had a budget just slightly less than what we paid for the plums.
The acting is atrocious, the scares laughable, the production values negligible and the direction directionless. The monster is someone in a hairy suit. The scenes of monster transformation are, in fairness, passable.
There is one scene, perhaps 2/3rds of the way in, when a young woman has her face ripped off. She had obviously been given a sachet of something red to hide in the palm of her hand. Her instructions? Put both hands up to your face and rub until the sachet bursts and continue rubbing the red goo into your face until the scene stops. It is just awful and not in 'good' awful way.
Speaking of goo, the current colloquial term for boxed wine casks among the young here in Australia is goo bag. I would recommend a goo bag to deal with on screen goo. It might eventually help block out the long shot of the monster running, or the stilted dialogue delivery, or the embarrassing pauses as characters recall lines, or the ... I'm certain that you get the idea.
In short, this is an incredibly bad film. I usually include the qualifier that those involved probably didn't set out to intentionally make a bad movie, but this is so conspicuously abominable that they must have known. Perhaps a quick dud for taxation purposes? I don't know. What I do know is that the film finishes with a young woman sobbing on the front steps and I wasn't far from sobbing myself over the time and money I'd wasted in buying and watching this mess.
Oh, the woman mentioned above does the sachet thing again at the end, but tears are intended this time. Her make up runs and for a fleeting moment she actually, and unintentionally, looked scary. She is the heroine of the piece!

Agreeing to take on a case to reduce his suspension, a troubled cop arrives in a church home looking for a couple of missing residents that no one else can find, but the more he stays around the troubled girls he discovers the true source of the disappearances to be a bloodthirsty werewolf and sets out to stop it.
This one wasn't that bad of a genre feature. Among the more enjoyable features here is the fun setup that brings the film together and offers up the kind of indie charm in this kind of feature. With the cop on his last legs due to the incidents in his past being assigned to what should've been an easy assignment looking into the strange disappearance of the girls from the church home, this is a fantastic setup for this kind of genre feature and really generates a nice mystery involving what's really going on. As the lives of the girls at the home and various backstories, jealousy, and interpersonal history going on there combines together into a highly engaging setup in play here. As well, once the film decides to focus on its creature attacks there's some fun to be had. Generating some cheesy fun with the werewolf popping up out of nowhere and viciously attacking anyone it comes across is all quite charming, and several of the brief attack ambushes also manage to bring about some solid gore effects in the generally graphic kills. That becomes most apparent in the final half with a lot to like here, as the full reveal of the creature in the church and its resulting rampage on the girls left there provides some chilling suspense scenes and some solid action-packed encounters in the various rooms of the church that offer up some solid chases and suspense in addition to even more fun gore. The other solid aspect to this one is the central creature as the design for the creature is quite impressive, focusing on the more upright werewolf-styled beast as the snarling mouth, frizzled fur and demonic appearance give this a lot to like as well. That is especially more so given the connection that gets unraveled throughout the film that ties in the mysterious disappearances, the odd behavior of the church officials, and the ensuing investigation rather nicely. The reveal of the creature's true nature might be obvious enough but there's still a lot to like about it as this brings about some nice suspense once it becomes clear to the potential victim that's the case, and with a fantastic transformation sequence thrown in as well for the old-school fans this has a lot to like about it that holds it up overall. There isn't much to dislike here as the few flaws aren't that detrimental. The main factor on display is the somewhat slow pace at the beginning of the film, featuring enough of a sluggish start that it's rather easy to lose interest at times. The films' focus on the lives of the girls at the house is at the forefront of things with only minor deviations to the officers' investigation which both combined takes centerstage for such a large portion of time that the brief attacks are simply just brief ambushes of the victim stumbling upon the werewolf and being dispatched moments later. As mentioned, the other flaw here is the somewhat obvious identity of the werewolf that isn't hidden too well at all, which just like the low-budget indie nature of the film is noticeable but not as distracting overall.
Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

I liked this micro / low budget movie as average to above that.
Those looking for some connection to the classic Amityville franchise may be disappointed as it's set in Amityville, NY and that is about the end of the connection.
Going on from there though, this movie is fun enough and moves along well enough.
Sure some parts are weaker and some things are maybe a bit unexplained or are convenient, but this is a low budget movie, not some blockbuster.
Interestingly Cody Nicole Cameron is probably the most well-known actress in the movie and for some reason they forgot her in both the opening and closing credits, I even went back and checked, may have forgotten somebody else too.
A werewolf is in a half-way house for women picking off a few of the girls each month, month after month apparently.
For some reason, the police are finally called that a couple more have "run away" this month.
A detective with some behavior problems is assigned to find them and the problems seem to mount as the werewolf becomes more out of control.
Pretty good werewolf effects and I read some complaints that the werewolf wasn't on the screen enough, but I've seen much more scant movies than this by far.
Gore effects aren't the greatest maybe, but not that horrible either and are passable enough.
You could do much worse for a quickie werewolf movie fix.
The director did two other Amityville titles with a setting of Amityville, NY as the connection. I've seen Amityville Uprising and it is definitely not as good.

Can't unsee this. I was looking for a movie to watch, I love a werewolf movie even if it's cheesy, I love this genre. Having said this this goes beyond cheesy, this was poorly executed, poorly written, and just a complete waste of time.

This was the worst movie of all time. 6 dollars wasted on this horribly written film. The scene with the 40 year old emo girl getting killed was the dumbest thing I have ever seen. There was so much blood for absolutely no reason.

Decently promising film sadly made into garbage due to the acting which clearly would be the director (casting departments) fault. I mean we're all these people extras who never had attended one class? To be fare this write/director seems to only do E for Effort films. If the people involved aren't students trying to learn then wow. To have money must be nice just to waste it like this.
Overall only what if you are a glutton for torture and have mental issues preventing you from not finding and watching worst than student quality films. The only decent actor was the priest (with the beard).....

This film essentially begins with two young women named "Karla" (Kelsey Zukowski) and "Alyssa" (Alex Rinehart) attempting to escape one night from a rehabilitation center located in Amityville, New York. Although Alyssa manages to crawl out through a window, once outside she turns and, to her horror, watches as some huge beast attacks Karla and rips her to shreds. The scene then shifts to a police officer by the name of "Detective Kimball" (Trey McCurley) being told that these same young women have been reported missing and that his assignment is to track them down and return to the rehabilitation center which they had been remanded to by the court system. At first, he considers this to be a rather routine assignment--but what he doesn't know is that this isn't the first time that a young woman has gone missing from this particular rehab center--and the disappearances always occur on a full moon. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this was a rather dull horror film due in large part to the lack of action and suspense. Likewise, the script could have used some improvement as well. That being said, although I don't consider this to be a terribly bad horror film necessarily, it isn't something I would honestly recommend, and I have rated it accordingly. Below average.
I have watched many werewolf movies and this one wasnt bad at all,The acting was really ok and the girls played good parts -all of them. In fact the director filmed a pretty good movie. The werewolf was believable as was the storyline,Ms elexis is awesome as was the priest and sister ruth,I really enjoyed it and would watch it again,
