- TriviaIn an attempt to make a somewhat non-offensive film his mother could view without smacking him for including profanity, nudity, or violence, Peterson wrote and directed the short film, "Goodbye". Being an homage to her life and traditional, old-school Catholic upbringing, it was scheduled to premiere at the "Christian" based 168 Project Short Film Festival. However, John Ware, president of the festival, decided "Goodbye" would not be screened unless a brief segment that "went against the Bible" was cut to protect the audience from "the appearance of evil". Peterson refused stating the audience should decide for themselves what does or does not go against anything. The festivals board of directors eventually overruled Ware and the film was screened in Peterson's original form.
