Some reviewers mentioning plot holes weren't watching closely enough. I found this pretty captivating. I liked Rebecca's slightly overwrought acting, Julien being a proven slimeball who remains somehow sympathetic, which makes Rebecca's slight inclination toward him relatable. The son was charming, the mystery was unpredictable, Rebecca's begrudging respect from her team members was believable owing to her driven yet somehow selfless obsession and talent for sniffing down the right clues. Not a bad show. I kind of look forward to what they'll do with her characters new direction in season 2.
Comparisons with Marcella are apt, but I don't remember S1 of Marcella ending the same way.

Fidgeted through two episodes with an increasingly sinking feeling of deja-vu, and sure enough, a check on the web tells me this is a remake of Marcella. A remake. A remake??? Of one of the worst crime dramas of recent decades??? I would have to be out of my mind (like Marcella? Like Rebecca?) to sit through eight hours of this crap again. I could not change the channel fast enough! Fidgeted through two episodes with an increasingly sinking feeling of deja-vu, and sure enough, a check on the web tells me this is a remake of Marcella.
