The unfinished first episode was leaked in January 2023.
As Gandhi was considered a disrespectful representation of a beloved man, he was left out of the new season. However, the show makes several winking nods to this: The first episode has a few instances of Abe trying to talk to Gandhi but finding him mysteriously absent but with Abe not fully noticing, and Gandhi is briefly shown to still be frozen, explaining his absence. In Episode 3 when Abe talks to Frida Kahlo, she is painting a mural of the real Gandhi. And in the opening credits, when all the student files zip by, pausing reveals that Gandhi's name on his file is redacted (alphabetically between Frida's and Gene Kelly's, incorrectly), to name a few examples.
White actress Christa Miller no longer portrays Cleopatra, and plays a new character named Candide Simpson. Iranian-American actress and comedian Mitra Jouhari replaces Miller as Cleopatra.
Vlad the Impaler is the only Bleacher Creature not named on screen.
