Warrior is a martial arts action crime drama series created by Jonathan Tropper. Based on the writings of the legendary Bruce Lee, the Max series is set during the Tong Wars in late 1870s San Francisco, and it follows the story of Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji), a Chinese immigrant who comes to America to find her sister. Warrior was canceled after its much-beloved third season, and while the creators and producers of the series are trying to find a new home for the series, their efforts haven’t panned out yet. Robin Wright will wear multiple hats on her next series, a Prime Video drama titled The Girlfriend.

Wright will star in, direct and serve as an executive producer of the series, which is based on a novel by Michelle Frances. Olivia Cooke (House of the Dragon), Laurie Davidson (Mary and George) and Waleed Zuaiter (Gangs of London) also star in the series from Amazon MGM Studios and Imaginarium Productions.

Wright will play Laura, a woman with a great career, a loving husband (Zuaiter’s Howard) and a close relationship with her son, Daniel (Davidson). Things take a turn when Daniel brings home his new girlfriend, Cherry (Cooke). “After an uncomfortable first meeting,” the show’s description reads, “Laura grows convinced that Cherry isn’t who she says she is. While no one else can see what she sees, Laura refuses to stand by and watch Daniel be deceived. She’ll do anything to protect him.

The White Lotus season 3 has added three more stars, including actors from Bel-Air and The Wheel of Time. The newly announced actors should have smaller roles compared to previously announced stars like Carrie Coon and Michelle Monaghan. The cast for season 3 includes a patriarch, a female corporate executive, an actress, a couple of mothers, a misfit, and a yogi.

The White Lotus season 3 rounds out its cast with three more stars, including actors from Bel-Air and The Wheel of Time. The Emmy-winning HBO anthology series, created by Mike White, follows the guests and employees of the eponymous resort chain with each season set in a different idyllic locale. The White Lotus season 3, which will be set in Thailand, has already cast an array of stars including Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, and Natasha Rothwell reprising her role as Belinda from season 1.

“The White Lotus” Season 3 has added three new actors to its cast.

Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay and Arnas Fedaravičius have all been added to the highly-anticipated third season of the HBO series.

They join previously announced new cast members Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong as well as Miloš Biković, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, and Shalini Peiris. It was also announced that “The Gilded Age” star Carrie Coon is joining Season 3, while Natasha Rothwell will return to the show in a reprisal of her role from Season 1. Last week, it was reported that Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola had joined the show as well.

Corney is repped by 42 and Authentic Talent and Literary Management. Duvernay is repped by A3 Artists Agency and Rebel Creative Group. Fedaravičius is repped by The Artists Partnership and Actors in Scandinavia.

XYZ Films knows a good thing when they see it, and that’s why the studio preemptively purchased the U.S. rights to Skyline: Warpath, a sequel in the Skyline universe starring Iko Uwais and Scott Adkins. Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline) directs the threequel from his own script, with filming taking place in Indonesia. Exclusive: Action-thriller Classified, starring Aaron Eckhart, Abigail Breslin and Tim Roth, has completed principal photography on location in Malta.

Santa Monica-based production and sales company Film Bridge International has unveiled first images ahead of introducing it to buyers at Cannes.

Classified is directed by Dutch, L.A.-based director Roel Reine, whose credits include Paramount’s Halo and Netflix’s Fistful of Vengeance.

Based on a screenplay by Bob DeRosa, best known for the comedy romance Killer, the film intertwines an international espionage plotline with a father-daughter relationship story.

Eckhart plays a veteran CIA hitman who has been receiving his orders via the classified ads section of newspapers for close to two decades.

Breslin plays his long-lost daughter, a UK M16 analyst who tracks him down to reveal the shocking news that his CIA boss has been dead for years, and the division has long been shut down.

Government approves increase to remain competitive in Southeast Asia.

The Thai government has approved an increase to tax incentives for foreign film productions in a bid to remain competitive around filming in Southeast Asia.

Foreign productions had previously been offered a cash rebate of 15 for every 1.5m (THB50m) spent on shooting in the country, with an additional 5 earned for using local crew, promoting Thai culture and filming in second-tier tourism provinces, capped at 2.25m (THB75m).

When Tommy (Lawrence Kao) quips this line in a Fistful of Vengeance, it’s almost meta. Fistful of Vengeance is the feature film sequel to Netflix’s 2019 10-episode martial arts driven series Wu Assassins. It is produced in the same spirit as Fox’s Firefly and Serenity or Netflix’s own Sense8 by the Wachowskis (which also had a lot of martial arts.)

Beyond Tommy, two other Wu Assassins leads reappear in Fistful of Vengeance. Indonesian martial arts superstar Iko Uwais reprises his role as Kai Jin, the San Francisco Chinatown chef and last incarnation of the Wu Assassin, an eternal superhero warrior out to save the world. After its first, and so far only, season Netflix announced that Wu Assassins would be getting a sequel in the form of a stand-alone movie. And now just about a year from that announcement, Fistful of Vengeance has arrived. Reuniting the show’s three leads Kai, Lu Xin and Tommy.

Fistful of Vengeance opens with a fight against a supernatural creature in a Bangkok nightclub. At some point between the end of the series and now someone, or more accurately something, killed Tommy’s sister Jenny and the trail has led them here and to Ku An Qi a powerful entity that has used her powers to seize control of the city’s underworld.

Cat and Dog follows the owner of an Internet-famous cat and an international jewel thief whose dog has swallowed a ruby as the animals escape their cages in the airport. Together, the unlikely duo must work together to recover their prized pets.

Gaumont’s Sidonie Dumas is producing with Eric Altmayer for Mandarin Productions. Netflix has taken Latin American rights to the film, with Gaumont looking to release it in French theaters in December of 2023.

Kherici is best known for the 2017 romantic drama Jour J (Wedding Unplanned), which also had her writing, directing and starring. She first established herself as a multi-hyphenate with the 2013 debut feature Paris à tout prix, which was distributed in over 50 countries.

“Mortal Kombat” star Lewis Tan has landed the leading role in an anticipated adaptation of the David Ignatius novel “Quantum Spy.”

Tan will serve as star and co-executive producer on the pilot from Boies/Schiller Entertainment, Anonymous Content, Flame Ventures and “24” alum Tony Krantz.

The project was first in development at NBC, though Boies/Schiller has renewed rights solely and will take the project to a slew of buyers this week, sources said. The work from Ignatius, the award-winning Washington Post columnist, follows a top-secret American quantum research lab compromised by a Chinese mole.
