This is a competent Thai film from the 80s that mixes social drama and action. It also has touches both from the Rambo films and the spaghetti western classics. We see the main hero starting as an orphan in a Buddhist monastery and ending up as a forest ranger in the north of Thailand. Things are tough there and he soon clashes with the local mafia bosses who handle the tree logging projects. There are fights abound, involving fistfights, axes, pistols, shotguns, automatic guns and...chainsaws. .Oh, there is also a musical scene! Veteran director Chalong Pakdeevijit handles the action scenes in a very effective way and there some nice stunts. Well, the soundtrack rips off music from Rambo and the famous melodies of Morricone, but who cared about those details back then?
