The film studio aims to “produce fresh and engaging content in Hindi and regional languages that connect with theatre-going audiences and those on streaming platforms,” the studio said in a statement.

The studio has revealed a diverse slate across genres. These include an action survival rescue drama based on a true story in partnership with Bake My Cake Films, a company headed by Sandeep Leyzell and Shobhna Yadav and which has hit films like “Batla House,” “Dasvi” and the upcoming “Tehran” to its credit. Principal photography has wrapped on “The Storyteller,” directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan (Busan title “Bittersweet”).

The film is based on Indian Oscar winner Satyajit Ray’s short story “Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro.” In the story about originality versus plagiarism, Ray was raising the question: “What is more important – the story or the storyteller?”

A restored version of Ray’s “The Adversary” is playing at the Cannes Classics strand of the Cannes Film Festival.

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is very busy these days with film “Bob Biswas” ready for release, three more films in the pipeline and management of two popular sports franchises.

“Bob Biswas” is a spinoff of Sujoy Ghosh’s 2012 cult classic “Kahaani,” starring Vidya Balan. It featured Saswata Chatterjee as the cold-blooded contract killer Bob Biswas.

“Bob Biswas,” written by Ghosh, and directed by feature debutant Diya Annapurna Ghosh, stars Bachchan as the titular character, who comes out of a coma and has lost his memory and his erstwhile, mysterious, employers want him to return to his contract killing ways.

"One thing I learnt in my journey so far is when I had come to the city for the first time, I came with a sense of fearlessness. I was a shy girl and have always been a reserved person but I was fearless. I didn't have the fear of saying no to something I didn't believe in it," Yami tells Ians.

Mumbai, March 25 (Ians) Actress Nimrat Kaur, who has been part of international projects such as "Homeland" and "Wayward Pines", says that due to her involvement outside Bollywood, she doesn't get a lot of films to choose from in India.

However, the actress adds that she has never had to remind anyone of who she is.

"I am not in circulation as I might have liked to be regularly. I may not get to choose from a big spectrum of parts which otherwise I would have got. But it has never come to a point where I have to remind people about who I am," Nimrat told Ians.

She adds that she might not be offered the kind of roles that she wants, but that's the "price" she has to pay for a career abroad.

"They might not offer me exactly what I am looking for, but that's part and parcel of life.

Mumbai, March 23 (Ians) Actress Yami Gautam, who plays a uniformed police officer in the film "Dasvi", has an interesting anecdote from her location shoot in Agra's Central Jail.

"When you enter the jail, there are some gates to cross and it is a long walk. As I would cross the path, the officers guarding the gates would salute. I used to feel thrilled and then I realised that it wasn't me they were saluting, they were saluting the uniform!" Yami tells Ians.

Mumbai, March 23 (Ians) Bollywood actress Yami Gautam has finished shooting for her upcoming film "Dasvi". Yami posted a video on Instagram, where she is seen excitedly celebrating the shoot wrap.
